- Comment on Grand Theft Auto 6 Download Size Revealed To Be 210 GB 20 hours ago:
Given prices of hardware these days devs should definitely be better at this.
- Comment on Classic survivor-horrors Ecstatica and Ecstatica II get re-released with upgrades 21 hours ago:
Well, I am the wrong person to ask that, we killed it early. From what I remember it only roams the houses, other places you get to later in the game it doesn’t reach.
- Comment on Classic survivor-horrors Ecstatica and Ecstatica II get re-released with upgrades 1 day ago:
Brings back memories. Played Ecstatica with a friend as a teenager, that weird satan demon enemy was super scary to us.
Then we decided to kill the demon. We got that bulky armor that essentially kills you when you fall down, got some sword, then somehow in sheer luck pinned the demon into a corner of a random house and just kept pressing the attack button.
I kid you not, I think it took 20-30 minutes of continuous slashing the demon with a sword. We positioned ourselves so well the demon couldn’t move while we hit it. We took turns pressing the button since it got tiring.
After like 10-15 minutes we thought, what if you actually cannot kill it. Then a while later it actually died and we wondered if it maybe just comes back later. It didn’t.
After that the game was super easy.
- Comment on Mass Effect 5 was aiming to offer a "level of autonomy and choice" that could vault it into orbit with Larian and CD Projekt's top RPGs, former dev says post-cancellation 6 days ago:
Well after something like this it is always either the best thing ever or was a total shitshow.
- Comment on Endless pile of Needle In Haystack games begins to emerge, as viral hit imitator's devs claim their code was nicked by a genAI-using clone 1 week ago:
This might self-regulate itself unless those AI copies reach a certain quality. I mean if you are a gamer and its buggy crappy demo after demo, and you can tell that they all copied this one game, wouldn’t you want to test that one rather than all the sloppy shit?
But that does require you to have a way of knowing what the original is.
- Comment on We have reached a new threshold in genAI gloom, with a game dev cancelling a demo for fear of copycats ripping them off before release 1 week ago:
I just watched the trailer and it looks great. But I’ll be honest that it doesn’t really take much to copy this concept, its mostly a filter on the first person view and some bobbing of the camera. The rest is story related, so if you already have a tactical shooter, it doesn’t take that much to get it there. Realistic graphics set aside.

Big Art mode looks good. Had something similar with a Decky plug-in on my Steamdeck but nice not to have to depend.on it anymore if this looks good too.

Oh my goodness. I have been seeing your posts many times and its not something I have a use for but it looks quite well made.
Why I am commenting, I only realised now that the name is not a weird writing of the Russian word for comrade , which when spoken sounds very similar to your progamms name, but is a German sentence saying “I was there”. Mind blown. Sorry for the off-topic rambling.

Handsome?
- Comment on Recommendations for self hosted recipe manager 3 weeks ago:
I mean, likely OP does not want to do that and I hate to sound like a damn boomer, but sometimes the offline solutions are the best. I admit I got a recipe book too and still transfer recipes in handwriting to it.
I only really need it at home and its easy to put in front of me when cooking.

This has been discussed many times already, and I am not saying that to scold you but if you look for the right keywords you’ll find a lot in the search.
E.g. the most recent one I know of is this lemmy.world/post/52120798
But thay was posted in an android community, so not visible here.

It was one of my favourite games I played the past few years. Yet I feel not every great game needs a sequel, here the story is pretty finished.
