Considering the general types that actually use lemmy, you’re on the wrong platform for that kind of community. No offense

Google search has enshittified far faster than I ever thought possible. It used to work like magic. Too bad capitalism dictates that usefulness has a ceiling.

Part of the reason I got a brother LaserJet instead of an Epson eco tank was because I don’t need to worry about toner drying out. As much as I try to avoid it, I still need to print once in a blue moon and it’s not really “efficient” to drive to the library.

I feel like you could also give the maintainers the power to “re-publish” using a different verified maintainer so that if such a thing does happen, it can be reversed without input from the maintainer that originally pulled it. I don’t know enough about the system to really know if this is a good idea tho.

I’m curious if you mean this one issue talked about in the article is the only reason why node packaging is “fucked” or do you have any citations you can provide that point out other issues with it?
I feel this is just a natural progression of how the developers wanted it to function and this is an opportunity to resolve it.
Better that this is done by mistake and resolved than it being used in a malicious attack.

It’s not so easy to just replace your job when you have a specialized skill. It takes months of applying to other jobs, doing interviews, coordinating with recruiters, etc. Not everyone has the time, patience, or ability to do that.
That being said, I am constantly looking for a better position. It takes time out of my day but it’s worth it in the long run.

I would rather people don’t use it at all if you don’t mind and I gladly censor myself when it comes to other slurs. I can’t convey the mental anguish and self hatred that I’ve suffered all because of an immutable characteristic of my sexuality. You can treat it lightly because you haven’t gone through that suffering. It’s one thing for someone to make fun of you for kicks. It’s quite another for entire groups of people to hate you because of what you are.

You obviously haven’t had it used against you as a call to violence have you?

I think Microsoft has gotten so used to the swing back and forth that they just assume 12 is going to be a banger. I can think of no worse setup for a train wreck of a release than 12 being the first Microsoft built major OS to break this mold since XP and end up being the 2nd OS in a row that bombed and drove away market share.

- Comment on What does going to a mental institution do for you? 1 year ago:
In the same way that physical therapy provides you with an environment, tools, and professionals that help you physically heal, therapy helps you with your emotions and thoughts. Therapists may offer advice but the main purpose of therapy is to give you a safe place where you can work through your emotions which can then lead to a better outlook on life.
Often times the reason why we get stuck in a rut due to a bad job, money issues, relationship issues, is because we haven’t taken care of our mental health and poor mental health will exacerbate those issues. If you are doing therapy while all that is going on, it will help you get in a better head space where you can start taking care of those issues or at least mitigate the trauma that they cause.

- Comment on Some veteran YouTube staff think Shorts might ruin YouTube 1 year ago:
I ducking hate how they removed functionality from them. They don’t show when they were posted, you can’t speed them up or slow them down, they repeat forever which is annoying if your going through the comments, the buttons being on top of the video obscures it, I can’t cast them to the TV from my phone (which is weird because it will play them if I select them directly from the TV app), it’s just a terrible UX overall. I never swipe up and I’m starting to get annoyed with how cumbersome it is to exit out to watch regular videos once I’ve watched the short I clicked on. I really don’t understand why YouTube wants to sacrifice everything that makes it great to be more like tiktok. If I wanted that format, I would go to tiktok.

Someone with government connections is claiming things that he can’t back up with evidence. Nobody cares because “the government” didn’t confirm shit. Even the guy making the claim said he couldn’t talk about it because it’s classified.

~the government just confirmed aliens are real~ another hack job with government connections is claiming that he was told by government official that alien “biologics” and space craft were recovered by the government without being able to provide evidence or details because it is “classified”
