I quit probably 11 years ago. IIRC they did some dumb stuff to cap trades, and I played out most of everything that was very cool & interesting, and they kept adding new stupid skills that I had absolutely no interest in doing. Like the hunting/trapping skill. But then they’d release sick new quests, with good rewards/perks, but to do them you’d have to extensively train up that yucky, boring, dumb “skill” that you would never use otherwise. If not for that quest.
They turned my play into work, and took the fun out of it, and eventually I was like why am I paying these people so I can grind away hours on dumb stuff that I don’t even like?? So I quit.

You don’t need to speculate or theorize; they say exactly how they did it. I cut to the exact part of the video where it is succinctly explained.
You’ll also notice that, according to Ben/according to Israel/according to Hezbollah… they advertised that they were going to stop using phones & switch to pagers. In July. So people going on about “they could have done this all along” are wrong. It’s been since sometime in July. This July. Which makes this a very fast & even more effective military operation.

- Comment on How is Lemmy better than Reddit? 3 months ago:
To echo, it’s not really better, just different & smaller. Just slightly less toxic. It’s not owned by Spez, the greedy little pigboy. 3rd party apps aren’t killed for no good reason over here.
Moving to a substantially smaller community of people does have its drawbacks; there is brain drain & stagnation in small hobby communities. Be it roasting coffee, brewing beer, or weed…not nearly as many brains, let alone good brains, and less content generation. There’s less knowledge, making it objectively less useful.
I use Sync for Lemmy & idk I find it hard to navigate to, find new communities. Half of the time I stumble upon one by sheer accident.
But the memes can be really good, it’s still a news/info source, and for me being a conservative it gives me some insight into how “the other side” thinks, possibly even why.

Oh idk about all of that. I don’t go to Charbucks unless I have to. I do know this: holy shit they have some good benefits for their employees. I think they pay well for schooling, and I know for a fact a young man quit his job at a lumberyard to become a Starbucks barista. Why? Among other things, to get good healthcare for his entire fucking family. By being a Starbucks barista!
…it doesn’t really make sense to me, either, but he did what he had to do & seemed generally happy with the arrangement.

Starbucks goes pretty left. Shops generally speaking idk i think you’re right…now the roasters, the bean brokers, the plantations…I’ve seen bits of left ideology here & there. The main thing I care about is: can you make a good bean? Does it taste good? There was one bean out of Africa, had all this FairTrade feel-good stuff behind it. Tasted a cup of the brew & I’m like…pack it up, boys. This isn’t even good coffee. ¯\(°_o)/¯

You need to understand the mindset, the culture, the reason it was even created. It’s not their most profitable line, but it’s not about that, anyway. It wasn’t created to make profit; it’s a real product born of a joke. Daily Wire said men & women are different, a handful of people complained to Harry’s Razor’s, Harry’s ended their business with Daily Wire.
It was initially created solely so men didn’t have to buy from Harry’s. I would argue Gillette as well, but Harry’s for sure, that’s what they launched their product on & they bought IHateHarrys.com & has it redirect to Jeremy’s Razors.

The razors are actually pretty good. They’re solidly on-par with comparable brands. All designs should be ergonomic, human friendly.
I generally agree, I love me a good DE safety razor. 👍🏻

Agree with fr0g, the goals have become easier & cheaper to hit as the tech progresses. Especially when you do all manufacturing in-house, whip it out. Just be wary of any and all claims made by China; they are not to be trusted.

FTR, IIRC he did not try & he actively went around some (stupid) people that got in the way of the killdozer. He wanted to level buildings, property of all the people that he felt “wronged him”. He was stopped only when the killdozer fell into a basement, foundation & he was embarrassingly stuck like a Roomba. He then took his own life, with the gun that had precisely 1 bullet in it.
Now I don’t like this man being made out to be some kind of hero; this, too, is inaccurate. Truth is, he was a shitty businessman who was offered a lot of money to evacuate his property, make room for another development, which he accepted. And then changed his mind like a little bitch. Then he tried to get more money & was denied. Then he was railroaded via eminent domain because of course, he fucked himself & now had this property with much lower value & idk no good entryway or something (JFGI). Then he liquidated all his earthly possessions & built this killdozer…again, because he was a butthurt, greedy little bitch that went back on his word & rejected good offers…to destroy properties. But not kill people.

Rivian is an expensive failure. 😂 They’re going to steal VW 's money, whatever is invested, and they’re going to spend it all before VW can get it back. So…they’re going to lose at least $1B.

That is technically a mechanism. I’m wondering if Biden, Trump, or both experience some incredibly bizzare…accident…before November.
Idk if it even needs to be complicated. With Biden it could be every bit as simple as “Oh wow, look, he died in his sleep. NEXT!”. He looks rough. Wouldn’t take much.

If you’re also bitter about it, don’t buy wireless earbuds from the phone brands. Samsung, Apple, etc.
Admittedly it’s not a big thing, but I don’t think we should directly financially reward the same people who took the aux port from us.
Sennheiser is good but sometimes at bit more spendy. I like Jabra Elite 8 Actives, for dust/dirt/sweat resistance. Maybe the sound isn’t quite as nice, but I’m fine with it. And Jabra isn’t a company that took the aux port out of our phones.
- Comment on Extreme sports are weird 4 months ago:
This is actually really funny because I think Michael Knowles talked about this exact same thing either 2 or 3 days ago. The conclusion was: we have these instincts. Some people just really like exercising them, and others, they’re exercising fear/horror/disgust in a safe, controlled environment because that helps to prepare them for the fears, horrors, disgust they’ll face in real life.
Not that they’re thinking that consciously. But subconsciously.

The message of Christianity is excellent for subjugating populations, giving them purpose & hope, keeping people busy & out of trouble. I think that all sounds very appealing to rulers.

To leave the US isn’t as easy in itself…to leave, and sever all financial ties, even moreso. I think you must renounce your US citizenship to stop paying income taxes. $2400 + any exit fees, for those with a little more built-up wealth.
Where to go, where to land, is another big question. Nerds with their remote working jobs can go anywhere, work from anywhere, and get their money. I am a blue collar laborer. Pros & cons to that, but it does physically limit where one can go & make a halfway successful, nice living.
I do believe the US is in decline. This could be a Rome type situation, where it is in decline for centuries. When you’re at the top, there’s a long way to fall. It might be best to position yourself accordingly, and not make any rash decisions.

Nah, it tracks. In a bizarre, backwater country where homosexuality is persecuted, it is possible that the kidnapper (perhaps both men)…to borrow from your words…enjoy acting on the tip. 😏
Things aren’t always as they appear & we might not know the truth. We know only what they tell us. A man being restrained in a sheep pen for 26 years? A man “put under his captor’s spell”? At this point, it is remotely plausible that this great war was seen as an opportunity to run away from his family, disappear entirely & be presumed dead, to live with his lover that he knew. ¯\(°_o)/¯

It didn’t have to be an evil fuck. Could have just been an ignorant fuck. “Do not attribute to malice what can easily be explained by ignorance”.
Disregarding what we know now: it would be great to have an exfoliating bead that didn’t break down or decay. I used it, sometimes, and it worked well for its intended purpose. We just didn’t think anything about it, and they probably didn’t, either.
