That line was adressed at Sony, not the players.

As I understand it, 3) already happens. What causes the load is that each connected instance is also loading and caching the preview.

Disclosure: The author is a tab person insofar as he has any idea what he’s doing.
This post was updated at 6:33 pm Eastern to fix some line-break issues in the Torvalds blockquote. The irony was duly noted. A better link regarding the Tabs Vs. Spaces debate was also swapped in.
I like this disclosure.

- Comment on New Discord TOS binds you to forced arbitration - Opt-Out Now 1 month ago:
It has to be noted that this applies to US citizens. For EU citizens the arbitration rules do not apply. Instead, they get an EU body that handles disputes:
If you reside in the European Union, you may also be entitled to submit your complaint to the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Platform or the Out-of-Court Dispute Settlement (“OCDS”) mechanism under DSA Article 21.

That’s a pretty meh solution. You need to sub to everything to populate your federated tab and then your federated tab becomes a tell of what you subbed to.

It’s not going to work. For every person that hears the calls to boycott and acts on it, ten others won’t. For every person that hears the calls to boycott, ten others won’t hear that call at all. The only viable way of cutting into CoD in my opinion is to give people an alternative to play.
- Comment on Former Call of Duty and Blizzard Devs Speak Out Against Bobby Kotick; States He Made Games Worse 4 months ago:
And people still playing those games. Kotick wouldn’t be as successful if those that usually buy Activision titles would care enough about the games getting worse.
- Comment on Does anyone else feel like 90% of the population is stupid? 4 months ago:
Most people just don’t care enough in my opinion. When it comes to politics, all they want is to be left alone. They just look for the first piece of media that confirms their biases and be content with that. I think that’s why conservat8ve fearmongering works so well. All they have to do is to convince those persons that the left wants to tell them how to live and that is enough for those people to trust that conservative media.

- Comment on Canada's Carbon Price Working, So Of Course It's Being Attacked 6 months ago:
Sure, some people get spooked, but that’s mostly due to fear and uncertainty, not due to facts.
But we see this exact thing happening in Germany right this moment. The Greens got into power as the party with the second most votes, and they get made the boogieman by everyone for everything. Why? Because they moved a ban on new oil and gas heating systems forward, as well as subsidizing carbon-neutral heating systems. They didn’t even introduce the ban, they just moved it forward by two years. They were getting sabotaged from the get-go and are facing constant attacks from all sides. The Greens most likely won’t make it into power the next election cycle. The conservative bootlicker party CDU will get the most votes and the near-to-full Nazi party AfD will get 30% of all votes. And all that backlash, because the Greens dared to do anything about reducing green house gas emissions.
- Comment on Canada's Carbon Price Working, So Of Course It's Being Attacked 6 months ago:
Enough for the bottom quintile to be turning the thermostat down in all but one room and worrying about frostbite in the bathroom, but not for everybody else.
And here is where the author makes a crucial mistake in my opinion. When the poorest are forced to turn down their heating, then the middle class gets spooked they might have to as well in the future. They will vote for scaremongers and climate change deniers, and in the end your noble project of pricing oil out of the daily lifes of people will fail.

And I’d prefer it staying that way. If uBlock becomes too big, Google will go after them directly and that would most likely end uBlock working on Google websites.

- Comment on My new favourite password manager 7 months ago:
In theory at least, online services would be more safe than a locally decrypted vault. If your computer is compromised, the bad actors can pull your encrypted vault for an unlimited brute force attack. Of course, this can be mitigated by increasing the decryption time. However, if your vault is already decrypted, then bad actors can just pull all your password from your memory.
I, for one, am decrypting my vault once when I start my PC. In theory, if I were to use an online solution, bad actors wouldn’t be able to pull my vault from memory.
- Comment on Unity Silently Deletes GitHub Repo that Tracks Terms of Service Changes and Updated Its License - GamerBraves 8 months ago:
Say NO to centralized source management platforms
True, maybe, but in this case entirely pointless. If Unity didn’t host on git, they would’ve hosted it on their own solution. They would’ve been able to delete the repo just the same. Furthermore, if they hosted the solution on their own, it would’ve made it harder for others to mirror the repo. At least harder as git makes it.
- Comment on NASA finally admits what everyone already knows: SLS is unaffordable 8 months ago:
Even then, commercial launch providers get much further with less money. Sure, if NASA had more budget, they could afford the SLS program. But the commercial launch providers show that they could be more efficient with the money they do have.

You’ll have to block the communities one by one. But it’s not that many, blocking the 10 biggest ones should be sufficient.

Could you fucking not? If they annoy you, block them. If they don’t break any rules and you report them anyways, the only thing you’ll achieve is annoying SJW moderators. At that point, you’ll get banned before Hexbear gets defederated.
