You know, this explanation isn’t wrong, but having a printer manufacturer in your analogy show up as a victim just feels wrong.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
No, it really doesn’t.
In competitors’ apps you can still integrate it with 3rd party services.
Teams keeps failing at the most basic features of a chat/calling app.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
Such as?
Last I checked there’s still no alternative that doesn’t require some sacrifices.
- Comment on ‘Meta is out of options’: EU regulators reject its privacy fee for Facebook and Instagram 2 months ago:
You should search for something like “data protection office” in Czech language, they likely have tips on how to lodge a complaint.
- Comment on "No, seriously. All those things Google couldn't find anymore? Top of the search pile. Queries that generated pages of spam in Google results? Fucking pristine on Kagi – the right answers, over and ov 2 months ago:
I don’t use Kagi, but pretty sure they offer the plan you want.
- Comment on Delivery attempt at 2am - charged to redeliver! 5 months ago:
Better question, what kind of a scam company charges for redelivery?
- Comment on Discord Servers asking for Phone Numbers and 'Verification Levels' 5 months ago:
I doubt they do. They just want to be “secure” and are unwilling to admit setting the level at “highest” is bullshit.
It’s not like you can easily get a new number and circumvent this “security” measure if you want… /s
- Comment on Proton Mail says that the new Outlook app for Windows is Microsoft's new data collection service 5 months ago:
There’s no “feds” in Europe.
And if you bothered to check it yourself instead of bitching about it based on some random guy’s post spreading FUD you might have found out Proton contributed to a legal fight that changed the Swiss law and made a repeat of this situation impossible.
- Comment on That Portal 64 demake we liked so much has been kiboshed by Valve: 'They have asked me to take the project down,' creator says 5 months ago:
It’s explained in the article, actually. ;)
The project was using Nintendo proprietary libraries, and Valve’s already shown on previous occasion that they don’t really want to go to court with sue-happy Nintendo.
- Comment on That Portal 64 demake we liked so much has been kiboshed by Valve: 'They have asked me to take the project down,' creator says 5 months ago:
Sure did. It’s really not that hard to understand why Valve would not let someone remake a game that still hovers at around #50th place in Steam’s most played games globally…
- Comment on That Portal 64 demake we liked so much has been kiboshed by Valve: 'They have asked me to take the project down,' creator says 5 months ago:
You know, you chose a bad post to get edgy.
Valve is actually one of the companies that treats fan projects very well, sometimes they’ll even let you sell your project on Steam (see Black Mesa remake).
- Comment on Honda announces a new line of electric cars, the Honda 0 5 months ago:
I wouldn’t hold my breath. In some EU countries Honda doesn’t even admit this model exists anymore…
I’m guessing the relatively high price and low mileage might have killed it.
- Comment on The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Developer Sells Title 6 months ago:
Apparently it wasn’t just drama. Steam post doesn’t mention that, but it seems the dev was doxed just before making this decision. :/
- Comment on The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Developer Sells Title 6 months ago:
This is the exact type of comment that led the dev to abandon everything.
It’s not “the incest game”, the topic of incest barely even appears only if you make several specific choices in the game, and even then it’s never painted in a good light.
- Comment on Nothing Chats has already been pulled from Google Play over privacy issues 7 months ago:
No, read the article. App claimed to be end-to-end encrypted, it was anything but.

Anyway, the “Enhancer for YouTube” addon has an option to force a normal player for the shorts.

No, EFF that’s linked here is doing a good job.
OP is just using shitty titles to stir up drama.

Nice clickbait title, man…
It’s still a proposal for now.

Nvidia killing future Shields
What are you talking about? Shield is still getting better support than most older Android devices.
And a lot of TVs have Android built in, not to mention plenty of third party devices like Xiaomi TV Stick.
- Comment on Steam Deck OLED announced 7 months ago:
It is. It’s a significant upgrade for no price increase.
And if you don’t want to get the best model, the old LCD models have crazy discounts right now.

And besides, Linux usually provides useful logs, so you don’t have to fumble in the dark.
- Comment on Microsoft won’t let you close OneDrive on Windows until you explain yourself 7 months ago:
And what would’ve Microsoft support said?
“Reinstall drivers, reboot, and pray it starts working!”
Troubleshooting Windows for non-tech people isn’t any easier in any way.
- Comment on Google and major mobile carriers want Europe to regulate Apple's iMessage platform 7 months ago:
I think you’re just being pedantic here.
I’m pretty sure they meant when messages are sent using the iMessage app - from the point of view of iPhone user distinction between iMessage protocol and SMS/MMS doesn’t matter.

- Comment on Windows 12 May Require a Subscription 8 months ago:
It’s pretty clear you’re doing your best to misrepresent the reality, so arguing any further is useless…
Check you facts, see what Linus really did, as a self-proclaimed technical person you should be able to understand very clear warnings he ignored after running random commands he didn’t understand.
What I read is that 70% of my games are not guaranteed to run.
Maybe read again. 75% of the most popular games on Steam have at least Gold rating, which means they have minor glitches or need trivial workarounds.
That’s quite the disingenuous comparison.
You’ve brought up the point about UI polish.
You’re the one trying to compare UI polish to ignoring simple warnings.
Breaking your system on purpose does not quality as self-destruct. - Comment on Windows 12 May Require a Subscription 8 months ago:
There was nothing accidental about Linus. He did it on purpose, the system very clearly told him not to.
And Proton works much better than you imply. I don’t know about their new “tiered” rating, but 29% games get Platinum rating. Besides that 36% have Gold, and nowadays more often than not that means the game simply just works.
Trying to say “oh, but it doesn’t always work perfect!” is just nonsense.
How many games work perfectly without any issues on Windows? And please don’t say anything about “UI polish” on Windows when it can’t even keep all its UI consistent - it’d be hilarious if it wasn’t so sad.
And Twitch… almost every game in top #10 works perfectly without any troubles, so what’s your point exactly?

Does Google Podcasts really not support that? Because that’s like… the basics.

Where’s the clickbait? Apple is bad for using an outdated standard out of spite.
- Comment on Unpacking Google’s new “dangerous” Web-Environment-Integrity specification 11 months ago:
They didn’t blow any whistles, the proposal was public and lots of people spoke out against it already.
Besides, I like Vivaldi, but they’re part of the problem.
The only reason this discussion is happening is because everyone and their grandma decided it’s a great idea to re-skin a browser built by an ad-company and expect them not to abuse their position.
