I manually searched for the SteamDB and ProtonDB links for this game on Google, copied the link, selected the “SteamDB” text in the comment textbox and pasted with the Ctrl+V shortcut. Same with game name. Lemmy did Markdown itself 🙃

Severed Steel is a single-player FPS featuring a fluid stunt system, destructible voxel environments, loads of bullet time, and a unique one-armed protagonist. It’s you, your trigger finger, and a steel-toed boot against a superstructure full of bad guys. Chain together wall runs, dives, flips, and slides to take every last enemy down.

- Comment on Is Conduit (Matrix server) sustainable, do some of you host it? 4 months ago:
The author of the fork declares 100 percent compatibility with the original project’s database. As you move, the database structure will be changed (new fields will be added) to be compatible with the fork, but it will still also be compatible with the original project (which simply will not use these new fields).
I used conduwuit for a long time and it seemed very stable. Now I don’t host my server anymore because my friend hosts his own server and lets me use it, so I have an account on his server.

The original developer is trying to do things slowly and stay with older versions of the dependencies, while the author of the fork is of the opinion that the dependencies should be updated to the latest versions and take advantage of their capabilities (such as performance improvements) which does not necessarily please the original author.
In addition, new features are implemented in the fork that are not present in the original project, because the author of the fork is pushing for rapid development (which doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing)

I noticed that recently every post on Proton’s blog has been an advertisement of their services.
They are hypocrites.
A few days ago they posted that corporations are bad because it collect fingerprints, profile users, etc., yet they are no better, as their mobile apps rely on Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) owned by Google to deliver notifications to their users.
In 2020 they wrote that they were working on an alternative method of delivering notifications, but apparently shitting on corporations is easier than making actual changes.

Do yourself a favor and do it now. Maybe then you’ll be able to help others move to Linux who haven’t done so before.

You’re correct; the focal point revolves around data ownership. However, you have to ask yourself, do we actually own the data?
Currently, four major hosting companies dominate the fediversum. Instance owners in practice do not have full control over the physical servers where their data is hosted.
Do you own the disks on which the data is hosted? No! The hosting companies retain that ownership and, can wipe the contents with a mere click.
A regular court order is all it takes, and I question whether every instance is backed up? While some may indeed have backups, they might reside on the very same server. Others, although having backups, may execute the process improperly. Additionally, there are those with partial backups, and the list goes on.
- Comment on Is the Fediverse truly decentralized? Not exactly. 8 months ago:
While the hosting location may be decentralized, using Cloudflare introduces a level of centralization in the way Internet traffic is managed. Cloudflare acts as a central point through which all incoming traffic is routed before reaching your decentralized server. This centralization is evident in the fact that Cloudflare controls access to the site, providing security measures, CDN services and acting as a proxy server.
Without Cloudflare, hosting can indeed be decentralized, but the inclusion of this proxy service means that a central entity (Cloudflare) plays a key role in handling and directing traffic. This introduces a level of centralization to the overall service, even if the hosting itself remains decentralized.

You can probsbly ignore the idle power consomuption and enable Wake On LAN and turn it on and of over the network. Is that a solution for you?
