This is what I do. DAVx5 works well as long as you’re ok withiut realtime sync (you can pick how fast you want it).

My main use case for voice is for things that I haven’t been able to (reasonably) automate. Fir a couple of examples:
- Saying “turn on the TV” as I’m grabbing lunch and walking across the room
- "Turn on/off the stars" for bedroom mood lighting
- "Timer for x" is honestly probably the most used things.
It’s all fairly trivial stuff to do manually but I think that’s probably true for the vast majority of home automation.

It works pretty well for Minnesota. In a normal year we’ll have a few days that fall out of each side of that range.
