Do people just call all automation “AI” now because they can’t tell the difference?
- Comment on gain 1 week ago:
Absolutely. I agree. I’m not against expressing pain and personal struggle in art. Some of my favorite art pieces are exacly that and it feels extremely personal. It’s exacly as you say: the problem of loss is that it feels weird in this format and with the funny webcomic context.
I’m guessing part of fhe meme being successfull is because a lot of people felt that way. It’s definitely art, but art comes with the ivitation of being up for interpretation and criticism.
In a way the meme turned that four panel comic into a whole seperate artpiece, one that is born from and does express the awkwardness in a way.

I do feel bad for him, and especially the ex-girlfriend having the miscarriage in college (it was years back before he drew the comic and not his wife according to wikipedia with his own blog post as source).
He also was the one putting this trauma event of his life in the public as part of a gaming/gag webcomic.

What I still don’t understand is where time comes into play. Is it defined somewhere? Wouldn’t everything still happen instantly even if there are infinite steps inbetween?

Wow, it’s a schooner.

It was to study its effectiveness and sustainability iirc, not meant to be done for actual production at that point.
I guess one major downside is that if a component breaks, be it something simple like a capacitor, there is no easy way to replace it, so it has to be designed with that in mind.

I agree with you and like to emphasis on one point you already mentioned. The demcrats encompass everything to the left of the GOP. Because the GOP is far right, everything to the left of it includes center right, conservatives, centrist and liberal opinions, as well as a lot of the left wing.
In my opinion this is one of the major reasons why the democrats seem so undecicive, because there already are so many different world views of people that are forced to be in the same party, because effectively, there only are two of them, and the alternative is straight up fascism.
If the democrats ever regain power, changing the voting system to allow for a 3rd or 4th party to actually emerge would be a saving grace, but unfortunately, the above mentioned composition will likely prevent them from it, even when in power. And on top of that they will have their hands full with the debt crisis.

For just $19.99 a month you can have us track your GPU*, or chose the premium ad-free upgrade for just $49.99.

Yeah even $500B seems like extremely low balling it.
- Comment on China scientists develop flash memory 10,000× faster than current tech 6 months ago:
I don’t think it would make much difference if it lasted longer. I could be wrong, but afaik, running the actual transformer for AI is done in VRAM, and staging and preprocessing is done in RAM. Anything else wouldn’t really make sense speed and bandwidth wise.

Yeah it’s essentially clickbait strategy in a way.

You have my respect. I’m guessing all the mods with a tad of integrity left during this time, leaving their subreddits closed

It was wild how spineless most of them were when the API stuff happened, and it showed how attached they are to their little bubble of power.
Some of them were even more pathetic by virtue signaling.
Like the r/de mods allowed memes for a full week in “protest”. Yeah… they sure showed spez with that one…

Turns out that normal cars have paint jobs and a clear coat finish for a reason. For raw stainless steel, everything from road salt to bird poop is very bad if not cleaned off quickly.

Grew up the same way. Some of my all time favorite games are still some of the classics. That being said, fuck nintendo. I hope they go bankrupt.

I agree. Especially with how some moderators talk down to users, they sure licked those boots stomping on them to not lose their “powers”.
