The commenter I replied to said"when it’s no longer a problem" to lower the taxes again, I’m suggesting to not lower them again. People who have multiple homes should be paying maximum taxes on all luxury items- homes, cars, airplanes, income, everything possible, and that money should be used to support social programs.
- Comment on Poignant post on the state of things 9 months ago:
Or you keep those taxes the same and use the money to reinforce social programs to make sure no one in your area ever has to go homeless or hungry again.

I don’t mean to put myself in the place of anything - I just meant that the better course of action is to find improvement rather than fault. It’s a situation where being able to put the blame on something does nothing to improve the situation. We’re lonely because there are too many people is all.
There’s a lot of people at fault for things in my life and if I worried about blaming them, I wouldn’t have had the time to get educated and grow as a human so that I could move past the things they are at fault, I was just trying to broaden that idea into something more general.

I am sorry you had to experience that, but it is very insightful and aware that your trauma would affect the perception.
Not saying this about you specifically ( I don’t know if you have things about you that you don’t like), but people who have things they don’t like about themselves also have a tendency to see criticism and insults about that particular thing where there are none. Like I used to be really over weight, so anytime anyone made jokes about something being large or about pigs or cows, I would internalize that and assume it was about my fatness because I hated that about myself.
- Comment on ChatGPT's new AI store is struggling to keep a lid on all the AI girlfriends 9 months ago:
Maybe I am, I really wouldn’t know (my husband would though). If I am I would deal with it iand improve myself nstead of blaming it on others.
- Comment on ChatGPT's new AI store is struggling to keep a lid on all the AI girlfriends 9 months ago:
If you are referring to yourself as an incel then there is likely a regressive mindset that goes with it. Most people just call themselves single. Sexual status is a construct, whether it be virgin or “promiscuous”. Unlikable men choose incel so that they can blame their lack of sex on the people not giving it to them.
- Comment on ChatGPT's new AI store is struggling to keep a lid on all the AI girlfriends 9 months ago:
Where did I call anyone an incel?
- Comment on ChatGPT's new AI store is struggling to keep a lid on all the AI girlfriends 9 months ago:
In my experience people aren’t calling lonely men incels, they’re calling men who are wholly unlikable who blame their loneliness and lack of sex on other people incels.
- Comment on ChatGPT's new AI store is struggling to keep a lid on all the AI girlfriends 9 months ago:
Sorry, I did miss the point. I’ve literally never seen it happen the way you describe it.
- Comment on ChatGPT's new AI store is struggling to keep a lid on all the AI girlfriends 9 months ago:
If you don’t want to be called an incel, don’t blame your loneliness and lack of sex on anyone else. Everyone is lonely, it’s nobody’s fault unless you want to blame society as a whole which will get you nowhere. Continue to grow as a human and don’t stop trying to find new avenues of reaching out to others.
And most importantly, never expect someone to like you in any way, no one is obligated to you.

I am a fucking insurance professional- educated and licensed -and I still can’t make end meet and pay off my student loans.
Tax the rich and enhance social programs. It’s not about the job, it’s about luck and generational wealth hoarding.
- Comment on Why do we have an internal monologue? 10 months ago:
I truly wish there was someone who could properly diagnose me. I did take a RAADS test a while back but I didn’t have a psychiatrist to bring my results to, so I go undiagnosed and likely will forever with the current health crisis. I don’t know if I can go on something like that without a proper diagnosis. I can’t even find a family doctor unfortunately.
But I appreciate the tip 😊 thank you.
- Comment on Why do we have an internal monologue? 10 months ago:
That sounds heavenly. Mine will not shut up. And when I’ve run out of current problems to worry about, I start thinking about all my past fuck ups an embarrassments. And that’s just in the time it takes to a simple activity. When I’m at work it is constant flipping back and forth between my anxious thoughts and doing my work and worrying about how I might be fucking up my work.

Did you maybe misunderstand what the commenter was asking for? We kind of need to know the search parameters and results before anyone could actually tell OP where they went wrong. Search engines are still search engines, even if you have to scroll through 6 ads to get to the results

I doubt many people would willingly go through it a second time.

This is the only thing that would make me say no. I could relive the shitty school years, I could not relive the shitty home years.

Income is income, and billionaires already have too much of it. Not everyone enjoys taking it rough from corporate America.
The only people who should have stake in a company are those who work there.

Probably both Lemmy and Mastodon, if they are a part of the fediverse it spells trouble all around.

One of my co-workers perfectly quoted the Cyberman-Dalek scene never having seen a single episode of Doctor Who. Apparently it was all over her tik tok. I mean, I’ll take it, I hope the memeability encourages more viewers. And if that doesn’t do it, NPH should.

Because the federal student loan plan is where I got the loan, so now I owe the big G like $15,000 instead of just under $8000.
I never should have had to pay back relief funds.

$7000 on top of my student loans👍
- Comment on Zombie TV Has Come for Cable: As media companies burn money for ten thousand steaming services, traditional networks are enshitified. 11 months ago:
I technically pay for cable along with Netflix and Crave as a part of my internet package so that it makes my internet cheaper. As stupid as it sounds, I currently save $30 a month until my 2 years is up and then they’ll find some sort of equivalent package to keep me when I threaten to switch next summer, but as long as internet alone is pushing $90-$100 a month, I’ll stick to this and pay $65.
