- Comment on New Star Trek Movie Director Is A Fan And Directed The ‘Black Mirror’ Trek Episode “USS Callister” 10 months ago:
I like John Scalzi and I love Star Trek, but I couldn’t get into Redshirts. It just felt like “We have Star Trek at home…”

I got it without rice, so its girth was indeed unimpressive. And it was very wet.

Got one today- $18 for double steak. Would have had to sell a kidney if I added guac.
- Comment on Somebodies gotta do it I guess. 10 months ago:
It is mentioned in that one episode where they have a small village of “back to the land” type people staying in the cargo bay, along with their farm animals that they don’t have to keep sweeping up all the time, the bays will clean themselves. They just have to stop lighting cooking fires.
- Comment on Q intentionally leaves his cart in the blind spot behind the most expensive car in the lot 10 months ago:
Returns the cart and is quite pleased with herself for having completed a human social contract ritual, even though she finds it inefficient and tedious.
- Comment on My favorite gender 10 months ago:
I see him as just having extreme social anxiety. Maybe I’m projecting.

- Comment on MRW hologram Barclay is trying to rizz up Seven in "Inside Man" 10 months ago:
Picard spent his childhood on an old timey vineyard in France, playing and laughing and picking grapes. Seven spent hers in a maturation tank until she was big enough to be a soldier.
- Comment on Exploring some deep space questions 11 months ago:
In the episode where the baby alien is nursing off the enterprise (or was that Voyager?) which part of the ship was it suckling? That part is the boobies.
- Comment on Picard nnighted by Klingon Queen El'beth, colorized, circa 2259 11 months ago:
I didn’t realize he wasn’t knighted until 2010, I feel like he was called “Sir Patrick Stewart” since the ‘80s.

Do doot do!
- Comment on [deleted] 11 months ago:
To add to that, the Pakleds in the second to last frame are from Next Generation, and also appear in Lower Decks. They’re maddeningly and endearingly dumb, but in a crafty way.

Gargoyles!
- Comment on How did money work on deep space 9? 11 months ago:
Same reason Nelix is the chef on voyager. Replicators don’t make something out of nothing.
- Comment on Traffic lights 11 months ago:
Yeah… the red light/green light game really messed up people’s understanding of what the yellow light is for.
- Comment on Happy Birthday Terry Farrell 11 months ago:
Revenant is probably my favorite Trek novel, it’s the only one I know of that stars Jadzia.
- Comment on Susan Sarandon dropped from talent agency after pro-Palestine remarks 11 months ago:
“There are a lot of people afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.”
She’s being shitty to American Jews for something Israel’s government is doing and being overly indifferent to, if not supporting antisemitic violence in America.
She didn’t have to do that to make the point that American Muslims are also being treated badly and live in fear of retaliatory violence every time any Muslim commits a crime anywhere.
- Comment on Susan Sarandon dropped from talent agency after pro-Palestine remarks 11 months ago:
Well, she did say some fucked up things. But the other people mentioned in the article who were forced to resign basically just said “I’m against genocide” and were labeled as antisemites. That’s fucked up too.
- Comment on one please 11 months ago:
In a lot of the novels they refer to the “refresher” where they use “refresher paper” and honestly I would be really disappointed to find that they’re still using paper to clean their butts in 300 years.
- Comment on I love how SNW responded to this sexism by surrounding Pike with women 1 year ago:
That was the sense I got. When he says “oh not you, you’re not like other women” the look she gives him makes it clear we’re supposed to realize that was a fucked up thing to say.

Oh that’s really funny. I just assumed inking was some industry lingo I didn’t know. Either way, Mr Nelix won’t be the one doing it.

I reread this twice as “Nelix was inking it up” and was trying to figure out the joke.
- Comment on Tuvok with some truth 1 year ago:
I agree. I think people forget (or missed) that the Vulcans went for this logic-only lifestyle because they are such an extremely emotional race that it nearly destroyed them.
That is why they begin their emotional control/suppression/denial training basically at birth. It doesn’t come naturally to them, and as every Vulcan living among humans has pointed out to them at some point by a Vulcan living in Vulcan company: living with humans makes you an emotional mess.

I thought having Riker fall in love with one of the enby people was about as close to a statement of support as they could get in the 90s.
