I feel like kj would stray into an overly technical area. Cool, yeah, but probably not what people worry about.
A sat fat / cholesterol graph might be interesting as well.

Ritzy shit, I’m cooking up dried beans at 2 $/kg

I’ve heard opiate addicts are lamenting the end of good heroin as supply bottoms and everything is cut with Fentanyl
- Comment on With COVID surging, should I wear a mask? 11 months ago:
Yeah, the very other end of paper masks is military CRBM gas masks with a particulate filter. These have very little pressure differential and you can go for a jog without noticing the difference (except the added frontal weight on your head). But there’s lots of options in between. Painters masks are great too.

Isn’t this a perfect example where stable diffusion excels over the traditional process?

It’s an interesting one to me for two reasons.
\1. Israels allies are culturally and ideologically opposed to what Israel has been doing in the region since WW2. It is imperialistic, subjugating and what the west has been trying to move away from in the layer half of the 20th century. However, it is strategic to them to support Israel so they will continue to bite their tongues and support heir ally.
\2. After the second world war Europe has been very cautious of any nation displaying imperialist intent. The mindset was featured heavily in the Falkland island conflict, etc. With Israel’s obvious intent of expanding their land, especially with Zionist ambition, many strategists in Europe may find themselves thinking of the similarities between 1940s Germany and the current political ideology of the state of Israel.

I got real excited to learn the physics of a nuclear gravity bomb.
It’s the opposite of a smart bomb. We have gotten to the point in modernity where a bomb is guided so we must define bombs which fall, and are guided by, the force of gravity.
- Comment on How many? 1 year ago:
Ignoring the joke.
A metric cup is 250 ml.
250 ml = 250 g
Water ~= 18 g/mol ( H 1.008 g/mol, O 16.something g/mol)
250/18 = 13.8 mol
13.8 mol * 610^23 atoms/mol = 8.3310^24 molecules of water
And there are two atoms of H in one molecule of water, so 1.66*10^25 atoms of hydrogen in a glass of water.
That’s a lot
- Comment on Australian students shun education degrees as fears grow over ‘unprecedented’ teacher shortage 1 year ago:
Wage is exactly why I did not consider teaching. Grad salary for secondary ed in Chemistry or Mathematics in WA is 78k. That means you’ve completed enough chem or math units to complete a degree, and then done teaching on top. The grad salary on the mines is far higher, and with that much math you could go into the actuarial field and make 200k in a couple of years.
Why would I study an extra 1/2 years to be paid less?
(To be fair, I did none of the above. But it is why I didn’t go into teaching)

For so many reasons, this is the best generation to be an autistic child.
I wonder how many times Shrek was watched by millennials. Thinking back, the move to DVDs was a godsend; the decay of VCRs at the top of the videos would have been a consistency issue.

I have to be in the minority of sane people who enjoyed this book.
To be fair, I had no context and read the first 10 pages assuming it was satire. The rest of the experience was bizarre. In the first chapter the main character ignores the advice of the train employees and orders the train to run despite the signal being red. It’s touted as taking responsibility when none else would. Utterly insane to me that someone who had been out of the area for decades, making management level decisions, would decide they know better than the worker on the ground who does the job daily. The contempt and arrogance leading to destruction - a great critique of management structure and survivor bias. How is it not satire?
Through the looking glass with a self important free capitalist narcissist, with almost no experience of the world and commerce outside their bubble, self hating tirade against perceived inability. Fascinating stuff

Are we interpreting the humor as the absurdity of asking identity questions on a form for no reason OR silly trans, there be only two genders?
Up / down vote me respectively, I am curious how often these sort of posts appeal to all sides of the spectrum with different groups interpreting he humor.

I mean, indexation looks bad because its calculated once. But 7% once is way better than 5% compounded.
I do agree high school and societal messaging has been misleading. “Good debt”, " When I studied it was free, is it not free anymore?"
