Well that’s just about the cutest darn ring I’ve ever seen.
- Comment on As a word of caution for those buying physical used games on Bluray, check the disc for holes. 1 week ago:
Disc rot is a serious problem for cds, is this just someone damaged the disc?
- Comment on YSK that Amazon has different prices for different people 4 weeks ago:
I haven’t seen any studies, I seem to remember there was some news reports many years ago.
I do know that I’ve stood in my living room, on the same wifi, and looked art the same item from Amazon on my phone and my brother in laws phone and seen different prices. But that’s just another anecdote.
- Comment on What websites still feel like the old internet? 4 weeks ago:

- Comment on Microsoft donates the Mono Project to the Wine team 2 months ago:
I can’t help but think that Microsoft has decided to proceed in some way that will break compatibility, so they’re done with Mono now.
I know it’s skeptical, but I just have no faith in that company to act in good faith with anything.
- Comment on In Leaked Audio, Amazon Cloud CEO Says AI Will Soon Make Human Programmers a Thing of the Past 2 months ago:
For like, a couple years, sure. Then there will be a huge push to fix all the weird shit generated by AI.
- Comment on Cords 2 months ago:
I did this.
Is it stupid? Yes. Did it work? Also yes. For the amount of time that we’d have power out, it was just way to easy to throw a breaker and connect it like this just to keep a small heater and a light running. If I had the money at the time I would have loved battery backup/ bypass but this cost $2 and an old cord. - Comment on With SteamOS coming, Microsoft needs to up its game in the handheld gaming market 2 months ago:
I don’t know that valve needs to bring steamOS to other devices. Pretty sure Bazzite is good enough for most folks.
- Comment on The Verge Under Fire For Publishing Info About ‘Deadlock,’ Valve’s Secret Shooter 3 months ago:
Isn’t it like just over ten years old?
- Comment on The Verge Under Fire For Publishing Info About ‘Deadlock,’ Valve’s Secret Shooter 3 months ago:
It’s just bad faith reporting. It reminds me of Kotaku sneaking into conventions before they opened to report what games were there.
It lowers my opinion of The Verge, I used to think they were at least reputable with standards, but that’s a real tabloid move.

I was thinking more Planet Express Ship and not Event Horizon, but good enough.

No no, once the space shuttle is in space, everything goes around it. It’s stationary.
- Comment on NASA Ping 3 months ago:
If my match was against rocks I’d have no problem with ping that high.
- Comment on It's honestly good advice, but I much prefer original hardware when possible. 3 months ago:
If I had unlimited space and could set up one of those retro game rooms, I’d love to use my old systems. However, it’s way easier and practical for me to keep my collection in boxes/shelves and have a little pc hooked up to the TV that’s actually made to output hdmi.

Back in my day if you had a vacuum cleaner kink, you kept it to your damn self!
Seriously though, these games aren’t for me but I’m glad that people can enjoy them.
- Comment on DVDs are dying right as streaming has made them appealing again 4 months ago:
Ive been buying anything I really like on disc. Lots of movies I don’t really care about and can stream, but things I’ve really enjoyed I pick up on bluray.
- Comment on My Windows Computer Just Doesn't Feel Like Mine Anymore 4 months ago:
Like, I’d understand a free version of Windows that has the ads and bloat, but the idea that people are paying $100 for this disrespect is insane.
- Comment on Remember when planes and hospitals had smoking sections? (Probably a lot of you do not). 4 months ago:
My favorite store in the mall was next to the donut shop and I used to have to hold my breath as I passed because it was so smokey.
- Comment on I miss console ads being this weird 4 months ago:
It was a serious problem for a long time. Late 90’s/early 2000’s E3 and game shows were greasy.
I remember gaming magazines running whole sections just on the “best booth babes” of the season.

First their drm is based around the assumption that you’re a criminal, and now this. I’m kinda glad I didn’t buy it.

- Comment on Apple keeps flogging 8GB of RAM for its Mac computers but it's still a dead horse 6 months ago:
The 8gb ram MacBook works great for your average Mac user. The person who uses it for writing resumes and surfing YouTube which I’m sure is a huge chunk of the market. Devs/Gamers/power users can’t make do with 8gb, but my sister in law who just does paper work and teams meetings all day is served well by her 2016 laptop, and wouldn’t have any issue with an 8gb MacBook.
- Comment on Halo Infinite Update to Bring Networking Overhaul, Easy Anti-Cheat, and More Next Week 8 months ago:
This is more or less what I was getting at. Windows UAC triggers so often with no context that’s its really just an annoying popup to most users. You need to pass the same UAC prompts to installing Excel as to install a root kit or a compromised software package.

I hate how obfuscated it is on Windows. At least if it asked me for sudo, I’d know to Uninstall. On Windows programs can just do anything.
