So the new guy gets sacked because a car went missing on his watch?
- Comment on best episodes for people who've never seen star trek? 2 weeks ago:
There’s a lot of episodes that only have impact of you are invested in the characters. Some are or self contained so could be worth a watch but it depends on the audience.
If anyone that likes sci-fi asks me I always say DS9. It has plot arcs and characters that grow, also a few silly and not so good bits but it stands up.
If they like that or like something similar like Stargate, seaquest, farscape or Sliders then we can find something for them, if they haven’t really tried sci-fi then you could do worse than strange new worlds within Trek or commit and try The Expanse for some modern sci-fi that kicks ass.

I wonder if this seemingly minor thing screwed someone over. Guy comes back to where car was, it’s gone. He misses some important family event or can’t pick his kid up. His insurance skyrockets, he’s now broke and has no idea some greater good future person stole his truck.
I don’t remember the specific instances in question, they may have compensated for the theft in some way but the knock on effects could still happen.
/tldr over thought it, move along

That is one strong unit, the thought of the weight of those devices gives me back pain.
- Comment on Am I the only one who is less interested in boomer shooters themselves, but is more hoping it results in something like Quake 3 meets Borderlands? 4 months ago:
Closest thing I can think of to that would be Destiny 2.
Normal Strikes and patrols in the open world you can shake off most incoming damage easily and leap about all over the place if you so desire.
Something looser like Borderlands 2 but cranked up and with crazier guns sounds fun though. There was a MOD for UT2K4 called Fraghouse or something like that that scratched that sort of itch for me way back. Install monster packs and run around like a lunatic killing waves of ridiculous creatures with redonkulous guns .

They forced something nobody asked for or had a use for beyond the quick what does it do? Then wandered why no one used it? Shocked Pikachu face.
The meta one in WhatsApp, utterly pointless. Copilot non-use to me at all. Gemini has less features than the old Google assistant and is worse in every way at doing the things it does do.
It would be great itlf they’d stop reshaping a working OS around fads.
Tablets went nowhere and left a big scar on Windows and now AI is gonna do the same.
They missed the boat on the one thing that could have made them money, gaming. If they’d put half the effort of this copilot crap into integrating something to compete with steam around that time then things would be very different.
This AI bubble needs to pop. It’s had it’s fun, it has some niches but for day to day usage at work and home it’s of no use to the vast majority of people.

So many firms with different rules, seemingly a law unto themselves. No way to appeal when they know they are already right.
They should not be able to impose the levels of fines they try to now. They should be spot checked from time to time to ensure they have processes in place to deal with people fairly.
- Comment on Super hero movies should have more scenes of them accidentally maiming people just because of the sheer amount of power they weild. 11 months ago:
Didn’t The Incredibles have a backstory like that where supes are basically illegal after they caused too much collateral damage?
