If BYD weren’t stealing western designs I might consider them. They are saving a lot of cost from not having to do much RnD

- Comment on Windows 11 Start menu ads are now rolling out to everyone 3 weeks ago:
Group policy. They’re a windows feature for domain management that allows admins to make lots of changes to a potentially infinite amount of computers remotely.
- Comment on Windows 11 Start menu ads are now rolling out to everyone 3 weeks ago:
I’m not sure tbh, but this should be deactivateable by gpos. Work machines should not be affected if the IT staff is on to it.

You could wait a couple of days and try ubuntu 24.04

They make realls nice cars to their credit
- Comment on Mercedes is trialing humanoid robots for ‘low skill, repetitive’ tasks 2 months ago:
Minimal investment. A purpose-built robotic production line is incredibly expensive and can onl- do what it was designed for. Theoretically, using these robots requires no alterations to the existing facilities, allowing mercedes to trial them with very low risk and comparably low losses if things don’t work out.

I’ve been gaming on linux for about two years now through steam proton and it’s really good. Some games don’t run because of anti cheat, some games run even better than on windows.
- Comment on How do I automount sshfs? 2 months ago:
I just have them check for my wifi. If that’s what they’re connected to, then the nas is available. If not, then there’s no point trying to mount it. However, one day every month my nas pulls updates and shuts down afterwards, so that I need to boot it again when I get home from work. But my laptop boots just as fast as it normally does, even though it fails to connect to the nas.
- Comment on efficiency 2 months ago:
Games on ssds benefit from faster load times. Don’t put your games on spinning metal.
- Comment on How do I automount sshfs? 2 months ago:
Write a systemd service, that’s how my computers mount my nas. you just need to have it run under your user instead of root or point it towards the right keys manually.

This is one of those things that just don’t make sense to me as a german. I can call in sick and if I’m able to show up in the fourth day again, then I don’t need to see a doctor at all. And the ‘sick days’ I get are infinite by law, although afaik the company can require medical attestation if I’m sick too often in order to prevent abuse.
