Nono, see. They want to lock in repeat visits and gain them as an investor, then use their influence to suckle cash out of the remaining populace.

The only saving grace will be if they code in trying to fill a plane for efficiency. I could see an AI making last minute flights at an actual discount but only if full flight efficiency is prioritized over individual sale margin, so not likely. It’s aloft on an wing and a prayer.

About the same time that all 4 other airlines decide to do the same or worse.

Oh, I hope that didn’t come across as a trap question, sorry if it did. I don’t know the exact right answer myself.
I guess my thoughts on the “too hard” statement comes from the feeling of fighting for every inch I can get against the hyper-sucessful businesses creating the gross system I’m forced to be in. People’s basic needs are not taken care of and mental health is in crisis. I find it hard to justify judging people based on anything other than how they handle directly interacting with something or someone. After all, I buy local as much as reasonably possible and have reduced the meat consuption for my family, but sometimes I’m just exhausted and get a burger because I’ve been craving one all week. Those in power need to enforce moral imperatives on others in power before I focus on individuals.
I am glad to read that last part. Not enough small changes are celebrated and encouragement goes so much further than criticism. Especially when it’s in such short supply.

Uhh, Mostly because the graph already shows lamb and mutton to be half the impact as beef.

Genuinely, thank you for sharing. That’s an interesting takeaway and a little different than mine. What do you think matters more the ethics of destroying/replacing the system vs the ethics of negatively affecting/interfereing with those in the system? Example: Would it be ethical to kill/euthanize all the cows in a cramped feedlot along with whoever is in charge so it wouldn’t happen again?

I predict goat and sheep cheese is better than cow cheese in emissions, but is it about the same 10:1 ratio for output?

Ok, sure. Tangentally related, have you seen the ending to the show The Good Place?

Well hell. At lvl 200 you should be able to just buy a conjuration book and chug a fortify magika potion to summon your own.

- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 4 weeks ago:
+1, ADHD and will forget to drink anything until I start feeling low BP. Usually good at feeling hunger thankfully.
- Comment on Why do some people hate drinking water? 4 weeks ago:
Well, hard water means it could be Ca+2 or Mg+2 ions, but it doesn’t have to be. Any metal or mineral in a “high” concentration (often as a dissolved salt) would make water hard. e.g. Salt water is hard compared to tap standards.
The water for the above user certainly could have been corrosive, or an allergic reaction could be the explanation. With a rural, rock ravine environment, any number of minerals could be in the water. You’re also more likely to get other contaminants like toxins in water not properly tested and treated.
- Comment on If I wanted to have a maximally downvoted post, how would I go about accomplishing that? 5 weeks ago:
Claiming a basic false thing as something true and saying that everyone keeps trying to gaslight you might work. Same as the stackexchange effect, people will engage to correct you more than anything else. Making it relate to insulting a large group would probably help too ig.

I love seeing these type of interactions on Lemmy.
For my two cents, this is the main thing I told every Trump supporter I talked with why I would never vote for him. Every other reason they had dumb counterarguments for, but not kids in cages. None of them liked the idea when it happened the first time. Now I have two things to ask them about.
- How they feel about kids in cages again?
- How do they like the economy they voted for?

I’m glad you remain reasonable. I almost downvoted out of principle, but this feels like the intended use for image AI.

Thanks for the transparency. As I’ve stated in other comments, I am American and I typically have better interactions here than on other social media sites. I really like seeing which community the individual is from and seeing the upvote/downvote ratio. If there is baseless criticism, most of the time it is either dropped when I ask them for more detail, or an actual discussion springs out of it. Finally, I’m a big fan of sh.itjust.works and happy to be here. I wouldn’t have any judgement to give; the internet is harder to tolerate everywhere as more users become bitter and/or hateful.

- Comment on How are scammers getting my email address? 8 months ago:
There is not much else to say. I got a text from “my bank” that a payment was due. They shorthanded the bank name, spoofed the correct area code, and even knew my normal payment date. Nothing is sacred and that’s the new reality.
- Comment on if you quit a job you didn't like or was toxic, didn't the financial hit scare you? 8 months ago:
I tried to have something else lined up each time, but tbh the financial hit from quitting a job where I was overworked was not nearly as bad as how I felt after my job each day. If you have some skills, offer to do oddjobs. Offer to detail friend’s cars, mow lawns, and pump up the quantity of applications.
