Is Sharon Apple somehow involved? Can we get a list of virtual idols with suspicious behavior?
- Comment on Who is Granted Personhood? Frieren’s demons and the trouble with the “inherently evil race” trope 7 months ago:
I’ll admit it was incredibly jarring (for me) to experience Frieren outright say demons are 100% evil, cannot be trusted, and must be exterminated with prejudice. But what you say really is what makes it interesting. We’re so used to media humanizing villains in fiction that we just expect it at this point.
Flipping the trope and trend makes it novel again.
- Comment on Reddit started doing what they always wanted to do, sell user content to AI. 9 months ago:
Dang I wish I knew that at the time. I had to run it many times before I was satisfied that my history was properly edited before deleting everything
- Comment on Reddit Signs AI Content Licensing Deal Ahead of IPO 9 months ago:
I can’t speak to the article that you’ve posted several times due to the paywall, but I can speak to the language and the antagonistic attitude they actually used during the entire debacle. Placing explicit blame on third party apps like Apollo, Sync, Boost, etc.- that was the argument used. It doesn’t matter what the real reason was. They were publicly placing blame on small fish instead of the AI monster that was stealing all of their content and bandwidth
- Comment on Reddit Signs AI Content Licensing Deal Ahead of IPO 9 months ago:
IIRC that was not the case. They very publicly blamed 3rd party apps, which was both disingenuous and not transparent.

The embarrassment of getting pummeled to some sort of electric accordion solo really sells it. Is it an accordion? I have listened to it in 20 years

Really? For me it’s exactly the same as before critroll. “Anyone want to play? Sure I’ll DM. See y’all this weekend!”

Which is why we have “infantry.” Soldiers who don’t speak and follow orders

I don’t know about you but I watch it at 1.5% with a heavy hand on skipping all recaps. Also yes it reaches near dbz-levels of screaming

Plus if you like it enough to watch the anime you can skip like 50 episodes

Just throwing it out there, those books are novelty trash. You’re better off getting this.
- Comment on Difficult Teerain 1 year ago:
I’ve been watching One Piece (the anime) for a couple of months now and, while I know that it’s shonen, watching the obviously badass female characters suddenly turn into sexy wimps is consistently disappointing.
- Comment on I’ve got this worldbuilding project where a big chunk of land is cordoned off. I’m not sure what’s inside. 1 year ago:
I don’t think that necessarily puts you in Mystery Box territory. JJ would just change it to fit whatever he wants to say at the moment. Think of it more as a currently-unknown variable that will logically reveal itself to you as you continue building the setting outside.
“We just don’t know about what happened in Ohio, but it had to be cordoned off.”
PS You should check out East of West by Image Comics.

My niece had this same issue a few years ago but with Photoshop. It absolutely ruined her. Changed schools multiple times (public and private) but social media exists so all the kids knew. She ended up getting homeschooled for the last 5 years of school as well as a fuckload of therapy. She came out the other side okay but she has massive trust issues and anxiety

I love the amount of praise in these comments. My dad is a geologist and used to always gush about the Appalachians when I was growing up

Me for the pixel 8 pro. I’d rather the regular pixel 8 but if I’m going to keep this thing for 7 years (which I will; typing from a pixel 2) then I want it to be as feature rich as possible. Not looking forward to how big it’s going to be when it finally gets delivered

That was surprisingly easy to find. Less than 5 seconds, and I’m easily stumped by these kinds of things. One of the beans looks like it has a toothy smile just up and to the left of him and I zeroed in on that first.

I had a sweet Brother for ten years at home. It was huge but reliable in every way that I needed. Finally shit the bed and my wife’s work got her a Canon and it is just garbage.

Ha I also asked my dad about it maybe 10-15 years ago. He’s a huge scifi fan and I tore through his library of asimov, Heinlein, silverberg, Anderson, etc as a teen 10 years before that. He remains convinced that it’s a satire from a conservative about dangerous conservatism. Which is funny to write as a lefty
