Schrödinger was scared of his own results, that’s what his cat is for. Not to show some profound effect about wave function collapse, but to show how the wave function must collapse (despite his calculations showing otherwise) because if the wave function doesn’t collapse, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead, which is preposterous.
However we now know quantum entanglement to be a thing; so, as bizzare as it sounds, the cat is both alive and dead, always. This is strong evidence for a multiverse existence. When you open the box you simply discover which universe you’re in. The number of timelines containing an alive cat diminish over time until eventually dead cat is the only possible outcome.
- Comment on Do you poweroff your server during night / unused times? 4 months ago:
Most of us don’t have clusters so shutting down the server means taking the server and all associated services completely offline.
Do you take your product completely offline for 8 hours every single day?

Openstreetmaps has been treating me pretty well. They don’t have all the business information like gmaps does, but that’s what TripAdvisor and Yelp are for.

He lost the election. Twice, actually. He’s never won the popular vote. He was only the president because of a broken system.
- Comment on Are there any games you're planning to pick up during the Steam and GOG sales? 4 months ago:
Yeah I was surprised they were so cheap. That’s not $2 each, that’s $2 total lol. They were like 1.25 each or something. I’ve played TW2 and 3 and I really liked both of them, but I’ve heard TW1 feels really dated at this point; though really I’m just playing it to round out the series.
Not patient gaming related but I have started GoT. Its amazingly well optimized on my Steam Deck. I’m kind of blown away on how well it runs, though I’ve only been playing for two hours.
For a long time I only played World of Warcraft, (I’m clean now) so I don’t have a lot of experience with Sony. I think the last Sony games I played were the OG COD:MW2 and some of the first Ratchet and Clank games, but I’ve seen they get a lot of hate. Why is that? I did play the 2018 God of War last year and its one of my favorites.

Congrats! Those games are lots of fun.

Some of the dialog is different but the bulk of the game plays out the same. Also Pippin and Blossoms kid keeps growing up. At the end of the second game though you get to beat Twinrova and Ganon.

I got Witcher 1 and SW:KOTOR for like $2. Not sure when I’ll play them since I’m currently in the middle of a BG3 obsession and then I’m going to play Ghost of Tsushima. But it was cool to get them for so cheap.

- Comment on It's not DNS 9 months ago:
When 9/11 happened, it took out a major data center, and people were panicking that it was going to take down the internet. But the DNS network detected that and started routing traffic away from there. It may be cobbled together, but it’s robust and resilient.

No excuse for not making MFA mandatory. The tech has been out for a decade. Greed and laziness is the only reason we don’t all have Fido keys OR AT LEAST TOTP on every website.

- Comment on Pornhub blocks North Carolina and Montana as porn regulation spreads 10 months ago:
Or you could accept that humans are sexually active creatures and by the time kids are curious about porn, it’s time to talk to them about why porn can be damaging and why it’s important to form meaningful connections with other people instead of your screen, and teach them about STDs, pregnancy, rape, the reproductive system etc. You know, all things that are covered in sex Ed that republicans also want to ban.
But no, I’m sure banning porn and all discussion about sex will only have a positive impact on kids 🙄
