As soon as I saw it was about “the whole gender stuff” I knew it had to be some garbage bigoted take lol
- Comment on BDSM Anime, just what we need 1 month ago:
Yup, I’ve actually started watching all of them after I made this comment :)
- Comment on 泉こなた by Sentter [LuckyStar] 1 month ago:
Good catch, I’d completely missed them at first gpance. As for the unidentified characters, I’m reading the former as a K-On spoof and the latter as Evangelion.
- Comment on Sometimes when I say danke (thanks or thank you) some of my friends will say (and the spelling is wrong but it's as close as I can get) they will say danata or maybe it's dinata. 1 month ago:
Very good point, in hindsight I should probably have clarified I was focusing on the written form when I replied

Just as an additional tidbit, it’s the same in Portuguese as well!

Thank you kindly, that one’s also great!

In case anyone else was wondering, here’s the sauce
- Comment on How would I automate (VM/LXC)-agnostic templates in Proxmox without creating golden images? 2 months ago:
Yeah, you’re probably right. I didn’t connect the dots that’s what you’d need here.
- Comment on I really wish Proxmox had an official Terraform provider 2 months ago:
Ah, I see. I’ll check it out!
- Comment on I really wish Proxmox had an official Terraform provider 2 months ago:
Yeah, I feel that. I’ve settled on telmate’s but there’s a few things I’ve had to implement as hacky post creation SSH edits on the config files post creation, such as passing through the Intel GPU to my Jellyfin container.
- Comment on How would I automate (VM/LXC)-agnostic templates in Proxmox without creating golden images? 2 months ago:
I don’t have much actual experience with it but you can run arbitrary shell commands in at least cloud-init, not sure about the others but I’d guess the same goes for them. Maybe that could work? Definitely better than manually running scripts, at least.
- Comment on multimedia manager by series 2 months ago:
It’s not a feature I’ve used myself but I’m pretty sure you can create Jellyfin playlists and collections spanning different libraries, so that could work if you’re okay with some manual curation
- Comment on Disney Plus begins crackdown against password sharing 2 months ago:
Turns out most were seemingly glad to comply when Netflix pulled that bs so I’ll be legitimately shocked if most major streaming services don’t follow suit within the next few months. I’m glad my seafaring ass hasn’t had to deal with that in years lol.
- Comment on Which OS do you use for your homeserver? 3 months ago:
I use Proxmox, running a mix of regular and NixOS based LXCs. One of those also runs Docker for simpler services.
- Comment on VS Code | January 2024 Release | 1.86 3 months ago:
Or better yet, an option to point it to my own self-hosted OpenAI API compatible endpoint on top of one to disable it entirely

I can only hope so
- Comment on BDSM Anime, just what we need 3 months ago:
You and me both haha. Here’s a link with more info if you’re curious, pretty amusing story. I used to be pretty active when it happened so I remember it well.
- Comment on BDSM Anime, just what we need 3 months ago:
Perfect, thanks! They all look potentially fun one way or another tbh, I’ll try and check them all out.
Actually seeing the titles now, I remember the last one threw mods in at least some other instance for a loop. Kinda feels like that time the best bathing scenes of the year post or something got r/anime banned from r/all back on reddit lol.

Can anyone name the shows? Kinda curious but I’ve never heard of them and I can’t quite make them out here or read Japanese to begin with
- Comment on A review of the ASUS RT-AX88U Pro + I need your advice! 3 months ago:
Not OP but that’s good to know, thanks for the heads-up!
- Comment on Microsoft launches a Pro plan for Copilot 3 months ago:
Also worth noting they’re one of the very few cloud providers I’m aware of with regional pricing, the annual family plan’s bang for your buck is simply unbeatable where I live. Not an apples to apples comparison but to put it into perspective, my 1TB Hetzner storage box runs me about the same as my 365 family plan with 1/6th of the storage.
- Comment on [help] Are there tools for documents manipulating that can provide an approximate size of components (text included)? 3 months ago:
Is using something like typst to generate your exams an option? There’d be a learning curve but it’s full of utilities to format and arrange content and whatnot so it feels like it’d be a less hacky way of achieving what you want. Plus, it’d make iterating easier and give you more consistency over time going forward

Glad I’m not alone lol
- Comment on Japan to crack down on Apple and Google app store monopolies 4 months ago:
You’re right, it did use to be that way and I’m pretty sure it also redirected you to the settings when you needed it
- Comment on Mailu+Photoprism using Traefik, NGINX, & Cloudflare 4 months ago:
Yup, traefik isn’t able to do any sort of serving itself so for anything more complex than a handful of ports you’re expected to use nginx or whatever webserver to serve what you need and then have traefik on top of that as a reverse proxy. Or at least that’s my understanding as a somewhat new user.

I’m picturing you running Arch on distrobox or something just so you can drop the btw now and then haha
- Comment on Bringing the Unix Philosophy to the 21st Century 4 months ago:
I’ve always struggled with actually retaining knowledge on how to use the myriad tools you’d need to extract/parse data (awk, sed and friends) and this was a game changer. I don’t quite daily drive it just yet but when I do need it, it’s vastly more ergonomic.

Great tip, I didn’t even realize ublock filters were flexible enough to affect that

It says a lot that I don’t know a lick of Esperanto yet even without the emote I’d have known for sure what you were saying. Working as intended!

I don’t have much experience with similar tools but that looks quite interesting, thanks for sharing!
