You’re absolutely right!

I’m not responsible for people having such an extreme emotional reaction to an offhand comment on a meme. I truly wasn’t ready for all this, and now I’m laughing at you all. I’m not sure what the hell is wrong with ya’ll, but it isn’t my problem.
- Comment on Make it stop. 11 hours ago:
I admit I did no ADDITIONAL research for a chat thread where people are irrationally angry over an offhand comment on a meme. I don’t keep research papers on my phone for all information I’ve ever been exposed to ready to go incase assholes on the internet are upset. I don’t expect you to “applaud me” for anything, I give zero fucks about you or your opinions. Any other questions?

I literally just pulled the first link by searching “childhood literacy US,” because I know many would be in denial. It really is hilarious how angry people are about this.
- Comment on Make it stop. 13 hours ago:
Literacy, in my country, which is specified because it is the origin of the slang in the meme. You really thought you had a gotcha, there, didn’t you?
- Comment on Make it stop. 14 hours ago:
Their parents give them devices so they don’t have to deal with them. That’s how this slang spreads to them. Do you think 6-10 year olds devoloped “mew?” It was grown ass “influencers” and it spread through media.
- Comment on Make it stop. 14 hours ago:
There’s a correlation that these kids are spending hours of their time on the internet (that’s how this slang spreads to them) and the fact they can’t read. I don’t see how it’s harsh to point it out, I just think maybe it hit too close to home for some folks.
- Comment on Make it stop. 14 hours ago:
I didn’t say or imply that. The spread of the slang is over media they consume because parents are using devices as babysitters. Them being illiterate means they’re illiterate, dawg.
- Comment on Make it stop. 14 hours ago:
Done. I don’t have any children and am not using a device to occupy them.
In all seriousness, this outright angry reaction is really surprising. People should be angry that their children are illiterate, but I suppose if they were, the children wouldn’t be.
- Comment on Make it stop. 15 hours ago:
Meanwhile, half of them are illiterate. The parents need to get themselves and their children off the internet.
- Comment on 'I signed up to be a b****, not a criminal': Australia's 'most-hated' TV villain speaks 1 week ago:
I’m not entirely sure what would be expected here. Reality television is trash entertainment for trash audiences. I can’t imagine intentionally placing myself in the crosshairs of society’s lowest common denominators unless I had a plan to leverage it for my financial benefit. The people who consume this media lack critical thinking skills, the ability to differentiate reality from fiction, and a lack of impulse control. This didn’t occur thirty years ago when “reality tv” was in its infancy. The actual reality is well known and abundantly clear now.

Being a man is immutable, unless you are saying being transgender is a choice.
I brought up the largest difference between the groups, not the only significant difference between the groups. One is a choice, the other isn’t. This difference alone is more important than any similarities your comparison can draw.
It is a highly flawed argument that only serves to get back pats from those that agree with you.
- Comment on Mean world syndrome has reacted a fever pitch. 1 month ago:
That argument doesn’t hold water. One is an immutable characteristic, and the other is a career choice. A career that filters for certain personalities.

It is a great comfort meal. Takes me back to a simpler time in my life.
- Comment on It's always gets sloppy after the bars close 2 months ago:
It’s really not all that unhealthy, depending on how you make it. In typical American size portions, it is an excessive amount of red meat for one sitting. We have it on our inpatient menu at the hospital I work at. Though the portions are not typical, the recipe is pretty standard but with less added salt.

All these people are going to be creating congestion in my city to look at dark clouds. Wow.

Agreed. I’m not looking forward to it either. I’ll be at work, most people are probably going to call in, and there will be hours of traffic when get off.
- Comment on Has rape become normalized in India? – DW – 03/05/2024 3 months ago:
This is a well established problem. Why any woman would travel to India is beyond me. Though Europeans do have a habit of going to places dangerous to them and then acting all apprised when the predictable outcome occurs.
Instead of focusing on the occurrence involving westerners, how about they focus on the women who live in India, who don’t have a choice to be there, and for who this is a daily reality. The fact that in many places in India, they will punish the victim is atrocious. Indian society really needs to address this.

- Comment on Is it known that some of the streaming services with advertising artificially reduce their ad length after the holidays? 4 months ago:
Doesn’t work with streaming services. They eventually detect it and refuse to play anything until you fix it. I had to let hulu through my network block of advertising.
- Comment on Brexit has completely failed for UK, say clear majority of Britons – poll 5 months ago:
I don’t understand how the population of an island nation with no resources to speak of thought removing themselves from a larger economic bloc would benefit them in any way, other than to satisfy their racist tendencies. The entire history of the country is about its citizens leaving to steal resources from others because there isn’t shit on that island. I suppose I couldn’t expect the citizens who still worship a monarchy to have better critical thinking skills.

That’s more so amazon can claim they aren’t commercials, but previews to upcoming shows you might enjoy. Though I suspect that within 18 months there will be amazon shopping adverts based on your shopping history. “Check out this overpriced dropship item even though you already purchased a similar product 6 months ago and don’t need two!”

I said when it is white folks mentioning free speech, that does not encompass “all white folks.” Keep up with the white victimhood narrative, though.

Oh yes, calling out the hypocrisy of the white power structures is racism. Fuck off with your uno reverse card bullshit.
- Comment on Ireland Hate Speech Law Would Make It Illegal to Possess 'Reckless' Memes 6 months ago:
It really is interesting that white folks only ever bring up free speech when they want to be racist pieces of shit.
