- Comment on What did you think of Sea of Stars? 1 year ago:
Anyone who says Sea of Stars is in the same echelon as “classic” JRPGs clearly didn’t play all the way through SoS or has not played many classic JRPGs. SoS was an okay game for what it was but I honestly don’t remember much about it a couple of months after finishing it, whereas games like Lunar and Persona will always contain good gaming memories for me.

I don’t know if I want to see all of them at once(ish) or spread them out to enjoy them over a longer span.

Holy shit, I didn’t realize Car Talk with Martok was a whole series. Martok engaging in Darmok style conversation is amazing.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
I’ve never played a game of D&D in my life but I’m happy to let my nerd flag flag because I fully understood these references.
Also whoever dreamed up “Car Talk with Martok” is a bloody genius.
- Comment on ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ Finds New Home At Netflix After Paramount+ Cancellation 1 year ago:
Correct me if I’m wrong but if anyone kills the show, wouldn’t it be Paramount? Netflix is just picking it up to stream on their service.
I know people have their issues with Netflix but I’m just relieved it’s not Peacock or some other service no one cares about.

That upcoming “torture O’Brien” Discovery or SNW episode looks like a doozy.
- Comment on Found this when looking up Captain Pike's Hair (don't ask) 1 year ago:
As a guy with regular boring hair, Pike’s hair is downright glorious to see.
Assuming he doesn’t get offed in the season 3 premiere (ha!), I look forward to more comments and jokes about his hair from the main characters and any guest stars.

Man those OG TNG uniforms really did look like pajamas. Granted the new fangled First Contact ones did too but for some reason those felt way more “official” to me.
- Comment on DS9 was the most sexually explicit star trek of them all. 1 year ago:
Just remember: As a Changeling, Odo has nipples according to the episode “A Simple Investigation” which I rewatched yesterday. You’re welcome.

Zips up
I think I preferred Jean-Luc Rockhard in Jumanji over this horror show.

You know you’ve been watching too much DS9 when the first thing you see is that his phaser is on the wrong side.

Upvoted for the Garak.
I had that damn song stuck in my head for two full weeks after the movie came out. I seriously thought I was finally going insane in my old age.
- Comment on Making memes from every episode of DS9 [s01e09] 1 year ago:
It’s not even in the top 10 of worst Trek episodes IMO.
- Comment on Riker has no complaints 1 year ago:
Jenna Lucille Picard looks… mischievous.
- Comment on And no, just taking 5 min to do the thing is not an option. 1 year ago:
Is this screencap photoshopped or actually in an episode? I don’t recall ever seeing this despite watching TNG more times than I care to admit.
- Comment on Stray is being turned into a movie 1 year ago:
I downloaded that movie on a whim for a long flight to Australia and it was surprisingly solid. I didn’t know the source material and assumed it was a original concept. Annapurna’s games are usually top tier so hopefully their movies will be as well.

Man, Odo and Kira do some downright kinky shit behind closed doors.
- Comment on Sisko was kind of crazy... 1 year ago:
Good points. I haven’t rewatched Voyager since the finale aired so I may have been conflating the two Janeways. I’m just going to ignore the obvious time travel issues this raises because they make zero sense.
- Comment on Sisko was kind of crazy... 1 year ago:
If we consider Sisko’s personal vendetta a bad thing that makes us question his authority to lead, I don’t understand how we excuse Janeway and the time travel stuff she pulled to get Voyager home–her actions had exponentially more butterfly effect consequences than Sisko could ever dream of.
- Comment on Sisko was kind of crazy... 1 year ago:
I’m in the middle of my DS9 rewatch and totally forgot about the stark difference between Sisko hair and Sisko bald. I just watched the Homefront/Paradise Lost episodes and the episode where Eddington defects to the Maquis and watching Sisko go all badass and lose his shit was fantastic.
- Comment on Can I replace my shower controls? 1 year ago:
I won’t mess with plumbing again after trying to replace my kitchen faucet only to discover that the shutoff was old and busted the moment I turned the knob, leading to water spraying out everywhere. Called in a plumber to fix it and it took him several hours to resolve–no chance I had the knowledge, skills, and tools to fix that.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
I don’t want to think about that poor Ferengi who has to clean DS9’s holodecks. Best case, cleaning is fully automated; worst case, Quark can get it done cheaper by lowballing his staff.

And as a backup plan, real Starfleet officers know how to start a fire using the rocks coming out of the exploding console or falling from the ceiling.
- Comment on [Discussion] What is your go-to movie that you will never turn down? 1 year ago:
The Back to the Future trilogy. It’d only be a slight exaggeration to say I’ve watched those movies hundreds of times.

There was at least one unnamed, previously unseen red shirt on the bridge as well. That was a hint there was going to be a body count. Of course, it could also mean that no one dies and the production staff are just playing into our expectations.

HOLY CRAP, I AM SO GLAD I WENT INTO THIS SPOILER FREE!!!1!
Someone posted earlier this week that it looked like Captain Batel was having a really bad day, and yup, she definitely was. My heart sank when she revealed the Gorn egg infestation. My money’s on her being the sole “main” character casualty from the events of this episode.
I didn’t know Scotty was going to show up so that was a total surprise. Finding out he was Pelia’s perfect student who somehow flunked made all the sense in the world, ignoring the obvious small universe complaints.
I LOVED all the effects shots of the Cuyuga’s debris field. I initially thought crashing the remains of the saucer section into the Gorn jammer was complete overkill, like throwing a dinner plate at a toothpick, but then realized the jammer must have been absolutely massive and far away from the settlement. It looked like it was relatively nearby upon initial viewing which didn’t appear to be the case considering the explosion from when the saucer section hit it.
That cliffhanger, wow. I pray that they have the second half already written and aren’t going to do like TNG and wait to write the conclusion. It was mentioned in the TNG Companion that the writers only wrote the first part of their season ending cliffhangers and waited until closer to filming to write and finalize the second part which doesn’t seem like the best way to develop a strong resolution.
I love SNW so much. It’s going to be an agonizing wait until the new season, probably 2025 at this point? Argh.

I love the Enterprise-D so much I paid through the nose to get an Eaglemoss model of it for my work desk. I’m new to that whole side of collectibles and good lord, you can drop some serious coin on those.

Wow, what I wouldn’t give to erase my memory and watch some of those shows for the first time again.
I’m currently doing a rewatch of DS9 and I stand by my opinion that the second season is loaded with good episodes; most people shrug off the first two seasons but not me.
