- Comment on Microsoft fires employees who organized vigil for Palestinians killed in Gaza 3 weeks ago:
I stand by what I said. Responding to someone that was responding to someone else that was being obstinate with average response when I ask for help is missing the actual point.
The OP that I quoted wanted to be combative, got a combative response, and then someone else made it about “asking for help”, which is their fault if they think that this thread had anything to do with it.

No it literally doesn’t work it’s not compatible. Also don’t be a bitch…
That is a really interesting way of asking for help. Next time I need help, I’ll try being obstinate and predetermining that the thing I need help with just doesn’t work while calling them a bitch and see how that goes.
I usually try actually asking for help and refrain from calling the person I’m talking to a bitch.

- Comment on How do I avoid enshitification of my keyboard and mouse 1 month ago:
I have the ZSA Moonlander and Voyager keyboards. I like them a lot.
I also have the Ploopy Adept and Nano mice that also run QMK.
I bought all of them preassembled. I’d love to know what other brands are out there that sell preassembled peripherals that can run open firmware.
- Comment on How do I avoid enshitification of my keyboard and mouse 1 month ago:
+1 for Ploopy mice. I have the Ploopy Adept, and I’ll never go back to another mouse. They mostly make trackballs, but they do have a “regular” mouse if trackballs aren’t your thing.
The biggest problem with Ploopy is that they only seem to make mice for people with bigger hands, so if that’s not you, you’re kind of screwed :/
- Comment on How do I avoid enshitification of my keyboard and mouse 1 month ago:
Seriously. I’m really into keyboards with QMK, but I buy prebuilt keyboards and mice that are capable of running it because if using QMK required me to solder something, I wouldn’t be able to. Soldering is a skill that most people don’t have.

Absolutely! Imperialism is bad when Russia does it, and when American/Israel does it.
- Comment on Haptic: A new local-first, privacy-focused and open-source home for your markdown notes 2 months ago:
Why Haptic
We built Haptic to make markdown writing simpler and more accessible. We believe that many existing editors are too complex for simple use cases and day-to-day note writing, so we decided to fix that.
What Makes Haptic Special
-
Ready to Use: Open Haptic and start writing. No setup needed.
-
Simple Design: Clean interface so you can focus on your writing.
-
Write Anywhere: Use Haptic on any computer with internet. Great for public or work computers where you can’t download software.
-
Made for Everyone: If other editors feel overwhelming, you’ll like Haptic.
-
Open Source: Self-host your own instance, giving you full control over your setup.
Haptic is all about making writing easier. We’ve left out extra features to keep things simple and help you get your ideas down without fuss.
Note: If you’re looking for a markdown editor with plugin systems, complex setups, or feature-packed interfaces, Haptic might not be for you. But if you want something straightforward that just works, give Haptic a try!

- Comment on Nintendo has DMCA’ed Sudachi’s GitHub 4 months ago:
Why are you being so obtuse? Yes, the repercussions for losing to Nintendo in court are life-ruining. I said that already.
However, continuing to let Nintendo DMCA legitimate emulation projects isn’t good in the long-term either and only stalls progress for the targeted projects.
The only way to “win” this fight is to win in court. I’m not saying that any dev should be compelled against their will to do so. It’s just the only way to actually make progress. This isn’t a technical problem; it’s a legal one.
- Comment on Nintendo has DMCA’ed Sudachi’s GitHub 4 months ago:
Gamers are only capable of remembering these things right up until the next first-party exclusive and new console gets announced. Then, it’s right back to opening their wallets for these fuckers.
The only way to truly win this fight is for the devs to face potentially life-ruining circumstances to fight it in court. Until then, Nintendo will continue harassing devs and killing progress in emulators.

Lol. It’s a close second, but at least Apple isn’t blatantly hostile toward users in the same way that Microsoft is.

- Comment on GOG Summer Sale has arrived 4 months ago:
Reporting back:
I tried installing The Witcher and Psychonaut. Both worked mostly seemlessly after prompting to install Wine-GE. The main issue I’m having is with controller support, but this may just be a result of trying much older games and mixing that with trying to use Steam Input through the Heroic launcher. I suspect this can be alleviated by using the “Automatically add games to Steam” option and launching the games through Steam, rather than Heroic. Alternatively, if you’re willing to map your bindings for each game, or you are on something other than a Steamdeck and use keyboard and mouse, you should be fine.
I recommend giving a game you already own on Gog a try and seeing how it works for you.
- Comment on GOG Summer Sale has arrived 4 months ago:
I’ve heard that the Heroic launcher is good for this. I’ll try it out on my Steamdeck and report back.

- Comment on Haier hits Home Assistant plugin dev with takedown notice 9 months ago:
Good point. Nothing in the article explicitly states that it’s a copyright claim, but they do mention “protecting… [their] intellectual property”. In any case, it’s always easier for the website host to fold to cover their own asses than to continue hosting the content.
- Comment on Haier hits Home Assistant plugin dev with takedown notice 9 months ago:
The mistake is forking and hosting it on GitHub. If Haier sends GitHub a DMCA takedown notice, they will comply, and the forks will be deleted too. Use other hosting services for redundancy and keep a local copy.
