Ran into a patient recently who’s middle aged and functionally illiterate. I encouraged them to still try writing down the keywords they did know ("ask doctor for ADHD night meds” etc) and they very carefully inscribed them over the course of 10 minutes or so (wonder if maybe some dyslexia is mixed in there too). They’ll probably be discharged long before this is relevant but I’m just curious if there are any good books that are mostly ~1k most common vocabulary, single subject sentences etc but that aren’t about kids or challenges that mostly only kids are still confronting developmentally?
Like I said, more a point of curiosity than anything else.
