I always love some good experimental archaeology, and for those rare intact discoveries like Otzi or Pompeii that give us a little window into “normal” life outside of ritual or warfare.
In this case, I’m a little surprised they would have jumped (incorrectly out seems) straight to linear cuts back on the day, before talking with a traditional tattoo artist. Perhaps this tells us something about the unconscious biases built into the life experiences of the scientists who first documented Otzi.
