Ad block query

Just wondering if I am missing a setting or misunderstanding on how the inbuilt adblock feature of Vivaldi is supposed to work. I noticed that when I open the german news site der spiegel - big adds are shown on top and on the site, really distracting. Once I click reload the page, often they are gone. Is this expected behaviour?

try creating a new vivaldi profile.

added the two lists from Peter Lowe but this did not make any difference - see screenshot . As for beta versions, I usually avoid those, not being techy enoughspiegel.jpg

in my case though the weird thing is that using reload page gets rid of the ads

@tomoz In all honesty Vivaldi's ad blocker isn't that great and I believe it's actually causing them to lose users to browsers such as Brave.

Anyway, hopefully they are able to fix it soon

give Vivaldi version and OS version (Vivaldi menu Help → About).

tell from Settings → privacy → Ad blocker → Blocklevel and Sources actived for block lists

8.2.4133.80 Win 11 26H2 - I see no ads on spiegel.de with these settings

  as for the adblock settings - I did not change anything, would be default, ie Block Trackers and Ads with ABP anti-circumvention list, AdBlock Warning Removal List, Easy List, Vivaldi Blocklist, Chinese (Easy List China), Estonian, Remove Cookie Warnings
  
  I will check again as I mentioned this seems to be intermittent and maybe add the Deutsch and English lists.
