Hi everyone,

I’m building Pileus, an Android TV / Google TV client for Mycelium, an open-source self-hosted media server (think: your own Jellyfin/Plex-style setup, fully self-managed — Pileus itself ships with zero content of its own, it’s purely the client). It’s built D-pad-first from the ground up: every screen, list and dialog (including the on-screen keyboard) is meant to be fully navigable with just a remote, no touch/mouse fallback.

I need to clear Google Play’s closed-testing requirement for new developer accounts (12 opted-in testers, 14 consecutive days) before I can publish. Looking for people who:

  • Have a real Android TV / Google TV device (smart TV, Chromecast with Google TV, Shield, Mi Box…) — or can run a Google-Play-enabled Android TV emulator (AVD) if you don’t have one
  • Are okay installing it via the Play Console opt-in link and keeping it installed, opened a few times, over 14 days

I can give testers access to a demo Mycelium server so you can actually browse/play something real instead of just sitting on a pairing screen — happy to share details once you’re in.

Drop a reply or DM if you’re up for it, I’ll send the opt-in link. Thanks!
