I guess this is tangentially community-related…? anyhow, got an old, 2010 1080p TV with three HDMI ports (one labeled ARC). TV works fine except it takes signal only from 2/5 devices I got.
works with desktop RX 580 and thinkpad T490; no glitches, artefacts, hesitations of any kind, pic comes up instantly.
doesn’t work with PS4, some lame android box, Macbook Air Intel with TB to HDMI adapter; just sits there with “No signal”.
same on all three ports, two different cables.
tried searching but the slop is owerwhelming. never heard of anything similar, is this a known thing?

A PC source is generally more capable in terms of EDIDs. When the PCs are connected, you can get the EDID details - if you’ve got Linux, at the CLI with the read-edid tool you can do:
And get yourself a people reading friendly output. If you do that what does it say?
