@loganer I think most server software stores the key of remote servers and known accounts indefinitely to prevent impersonation by someone buying the domain. And unfortunately Fedi admins always absolutely refuse to run a "self-destruct" before shutting down their servers which sends deletes for all accounts and the server itself, and if you don't do that and then lose the server ActivityPub keys then that domain is essentially permanently ruined for use on Fedi forever
