Two days ago Russo tweeted out the following:

To my BELOVED Supporters,

Over the past few weeks I have received many e-mails, dms and text messages concerning my status with @jcwlunacy .

For those of you who know me, you know I don’t hide from the truth, I don’t avoid the truth and I certainly don’t lie about the truth.

The reason for my silence was that . . . I just didn’t know. I just needed some time. I’d been unhappy for a while in @jcwlunacy and I’m not going to deny that. Something had to change.

Without getting into specifics, there were a lot of reasons with the biggest one being that at 65 . . . I’m not the same guy I was 30 years ago. Things have changed, life has changed and more importantly . . . I’ve changed.

A short while ago I had a phone conversation with Violent J and we have amicably agreed to part ways.

Hey man, it was supposed to be for a few weeks, maybe a couple of months, but we KILLED IT for an entire year.

So now . . . it’s time to move on. What the future holds . . . we shall see.

I’d like to thank Violent J—one of the kindest, gentlest, most creative souls I have ever met in my life, the @jcwlunacy locker room—who treated me with the utmost respect, and the entire crew who worked their ARSES off every day.

Yeah, it was a wild ride . . . but, now . . . maybe I can finally take that nap.

Yesterday Violent J gave an interview where he said:

Vince Russo has been nothing short of a massive blessing for JCW and for me in my personal life. Originally, we planned a two or three-month run together and we ended up going an entire year. Every single time I saw his face on Lunacy, it gave me chills. I feel forever indebted to the man and I’ll always love him and miss having his legendary presence on the show," Violent J told Undisputed.

“I have been writing wrestling storylines since I was backyard wrestling at 14 years old, and I’ve been writing storylines throughout the first 26 years of JCW. Yet I’ve learned more over this past year working with Vince Russo than I’d ever known. I’m extremely excited to get back behind the wheel and deliver a brand-new era of JCW fans will never forget and will make Vince Russo extremely proud. Nothing to it but to do it, so let’s rock.”

Congratulations to Russo for not getting fired for once.
