Nia Luckey challenges readers to step back from the specific person a difficult dynamic reminds them of and capture it as a persona instead. Here's her point: "Instead of trying to figure out how to fix something that is outside of our control, how can I figure out how to get to a certain level of trust with that existing persona, and how do we communicate through that, and then how do we manage the repair of trust over time." She calls it the biggest realization from writing the book. Those personas exist; they're not going anywhere, so the work is building trust with the pattern, not eliminating the person.
