To preface this discussion, I’m not a SWE or developer but I am working on an ambitious project in my area of expertise. My workflow to date has been orchestrating in Fable with the help of GPT 5.6 Sol on extra high and using Opus 5 at high - max to do most of my implementation with the occasional sonnet work. In the beginning this was fine and I was decently impressed with the work Opus was doing as it was building out early versions of my features. Lately, as I am adding layers of complexity and looking to improve quality, I am finding Opus mind numbingly frustrating and as someone with a full time job who mostly codes in my downtime in the evenings or the occasional weekends I find myself losing my mind in loops from Opus 5 bugs caught by Sol. Once I find myself demoralized by the time wasted in audit and bug fixing loops I default to Fable and it solves my problem most of the time in one go. I love the model and its ability to solve complex tasks without endless buggy loops but I know I can’t use it constantly due to 5 hour and weekly limits. What are your experiences when being forced to work in Opus, do you find yourself leaning to using Astra? It would be very hard for me to give up Fable right now because of how intelligently it works to solve and plan for what I need it do. Looking to understand legitimate plans for the coming months for actual work on project deliverables by the Opus constraint and how flawed it is.
