It’s a pity they lump bikes in with this, rather than finding a way to support them.
Because the network is old and the trains don’t have room for non folding bikes.
A normal bicycle is going to block entrances and exits to carriages, and in the case of an emergency that could be fatal.
Yes, obviously. But that’s not unique to London, and doesn’t necessarily make it impossible to do safely.
Some old and crowded systems allow bikes on designated cars/trains that have space reserved for them, and run only during off hours, for example.
