What started as a strange Canadian fast food challenge quickly turned into a massive 4,000+ km road trip across Western Canada, taking us through small Alberta towns, major cities, remote northern highways, and eventually the Rocky Mountains!

Over seven days, we visited 27 Burger Baron locations, tried everything from the famous Mushroom Burger to some of the strangest and most unique menu items we could find, discovered wildly different restaurants, collected Burger Baron mascot variations, met the people keeping these locations alive, camped across Alberta, battled storms, drove through the night, raced against closing times, and somehow managed to turn a fast food challenge into one giant Canadian road trip.

Burger Baron is unlike almost any other fast food chain in Canada. After expanding across Western Canada decades ago, many of the remaining restaurants became independently operated, meaning every Burger Baron can have different menus, prices, recipes, buildings, signs, and even completely different versions of the Burger Baron mascot.

That meant we never really knew what we were going to find at the next location.

This journey takes us from the Alberta prairies to Edmonton, northern Alberta, Slave Lake, Jasper National Park, the Canadian Rockies and finally British Columbia as we attempt to complete the ultimate Burger Baron challenge and visit every remaining Burger Baron in Canada.

This is more than just a fast food video. It became one of the biggest journeys I’ve ever filmed for The Wandering Series, combining Canadian travel, food challenges, road trips, small towns, roadside attractions, fast food history, Alberta travel, British Columbia travel and a 4,000 km adventure across Western Canada.
