I read an interesting by a historian claiming that “The Sea People” weren’t a distinct people, but rather desperate refugees turned raiders due to the bronze age collapse after the trade networks collapsed.
He argued that, based on archeological findings, this collapse started in the north and gradually moved south, and to the island civilizations who hadn’t been severely affected yet, the crisis further north didn’t show until desperation had turned distant trading cultures into migratory Raiders.
