Context: This is about the aftermath of the Nuremberg Trials. On October 16, 1946, ten high-ranking Nazis were hanged at Nuremberg. Their remains were cremated at the Ostfriedhof in Munich, then dumped into a creek and the urns smashed so they could never become shrines for sympathizers. The crematorium staff were there to watch the whole thing. The US Army referred to the bodies as ‘servicemen’ for official paperwork, which is why the title jokes that one of them looked an awful lot like Göring. The radio was blasting the news of the executions at the same time. The anime girl’s expression is basically ‘well, that’s just my life now’.
