Setting aside for a moment that this is clearly an ad…
I’m glad this isn’t yet another chromium browser. And while I’m personally not a Mac user, I can certainly see why you’d prefer your browser to be a native app with a design that fits in with the UX of the OS.
But it’s not open source and we just have to trust that this browser, made by a small team of unknown people, isn’t doing anything nefarious. For a browser, that’s an immediate no-no, IMO.
Their FAQ says they plan on open sourcing eventually. But who knows if that’s true or not.
The FAQ makes the disingenuous assertion that because Google offers Chromium (open source) while being an ad company, that therefore means that open source is likely bad.
They go on to say that the maker of a closed source, WebKit-based engine (I’m assuming they mean Apple and Safari respectively) cares about user privacy lol
The FAQ also says that they gather telemetry information, despite their front page saying they don’t. They claim that the info gathering is “closed source”, which makes it good 🤦♀️
The more I read, the worse this browser seems.
