Is there a way to divorce these types of technologies and products, for instance, the one in this video, from the usage of Android phones? Or even phones in general? I have used Python, like Serial Python, with small mini computers. I have created…Flask applications for switches, but I just haven’t connected the dots in how to take something like this and bypass the usage of a cell phone in order to set this up to be connected on the internet.

@that_lightnin https://tasmota.github.io/docs/ ; If you want to buy such a device, spend some time to check if the device you want is any good regarding electrical safety. E.g. the smart plugs I got have a really bad protective earth connection. A device with thermal overload protection (and with this correctly configured) is a must imho.
