Like most evidence of old timey people, stuff in caves lasts because caves don’t get messed with by nature.
Bury a body in a field an there won’t even be bones in a 1,000 years.
We’re talking about burials >100,000 years ago. To find anything older we’re limited to permafrost and peat bogs.
