In the fourth installment of Marx in Minutes, we look at Chapter 7 of Capital (Chapter 5 in the Paul Reitter edition). We start with the fact that labor is an integral part of human nature. We recall that labor-power has the unique use-value of creating new value. Marx takes us through the production process and reveals that profits come from workers producing value above the value of labor-power itself. In other words, profits come from wages being less than the total value added by workers. -------- The Marxist Project is a proud member of Means TV.
