WAR: A Trump Family Business A cartoon of Don, Jr., and Eric Trump with their arms full of weapons and money. Don Jr., and Eric have been putting money into defense and getting big money out of it. The brothers invest, and then the companies in which they invest get big defense contracts: about $3.2 billion in direct contracts and $3.1 billion in future contract options since Trump got re-elected. This looks like insider corruption on an epic scale, but of course Republicans are blocking efforts to investigate; and Trump’s hounds at the DoJ aren’t going to chase this one. Daddy Trump promised “no new wars,” especially in the Middle East. But perhaps the appeal of big profits led to a changed tune and a huge money-making family business. Endless munitions purchases for endless wars, endless deaths of Americans and others—with enormous profits: That sounds like a lucrative Trump business strategy.
