For 2027, Trump is ending a Biden-era program that reduced the cost of drug coverage under Medicare. Recipients will be paying more for monthly premiums. Trump must think we all have money to burn. You can’t really blame him, though. Important projects like “beautification” can be costly. Gold-gilded cherubs are expensive, as are decorative ceilings and gold fireplace trim for the White House. Not to mention tearing down the East Wing to build a ballroom, and the never-ending project to ruin the Reflecting Pool while arresting visitors and labeling them vandals. And then there is the endless war—an enormously expensive project by itself. So seniors having a rough time paying for their prescription coverage just need to remember they are sacrificing so that Trump can do the really important things.
