Hi a chairde!
I have a very exciting update since today, our community guidelines are also available as Gaelige here, and we welcome to our admin team @Lingua@queer.irish as our official Irish language admin and moderator. I am very grateful to him for agreeing to take on this role as well as translating our guidelines, as I personally am far from fluent, but I also firmly believe that all the people here should be able to discuss and share stuff in Irish as well as in English. That means the addition of someone who is not only fluent native speaker, but also works with it professionally is invaluable to our little project. Thank you again, Lingua, Go raibh míle maith agat!

Speaking of languages, be sure to check out our new, shiny community board dedicated to all things language related: !language_exchange@queer.irish - whether you are a linguistic scholar, or are studying a new language, it is the best place to go and ask questions, discuss, post memes…

Did I say memes? Well, yes I did! This month is all about celebration of our struggles for equality, but despite how dire things look today, we always need some humour to cope and unwind a little, so I set up a little board dedicated to funny pictures - !memes@queer.irish. Go over there, take a look, and submit your own, the more the merrier, in this case quite literally.

Oh, the pride celebrations! THERE IS SO MANY AMAZING EVENTS!
I’m doing my best to keep track of them and publish them in our dedicated Events community here at !events@queer.irish, but there is SO MANY! If you know of an event that I didn’t notice or forgot about, why don’t you add it? It only takes a minute or two, and it allows all of us to learn about that cool thing! If you’re not sure how to do it, we are happy to help, you can also pop a link or a quick description of the event in a comment, and we will do our best to post it as an event as soon as we get to it.

Sheesh, that’s a lot of communities, right? WRONG! The site was designed as a community board, and the whole idea is that anyone is able to run their own board about things they are passionate about. I heard ideas about a dedicated Goth community? I’d love to see that. I also had someone mention A DRAG COMMUNITY, and I am honestly ashamed we don’t have one already! But also, there is only so many communities I can moderate myself… How about you go and create your own? It is really easy! And if you have questions, just ask, we are more than happy to help!

Ooooh, ASKING! We are asking for your questions, ideas and feedback because we are commited to preparing THE BEST GUIDE POSSIBLE for you about using this portal, so if you have ideas or questions, head to this topic and let us know!!

I think that’s all from me for now, but I’m excited to hear from yous!
What impressive and exciting thing you got done in June so far?
Let me know!
