This one was always more on the ship than it was on him. He just wanted to talk about the God damn engines. The ship made it weird.

Legit why would the ship do that without expressed consent for a program like that. Like there is expressed consent for safety protocols. Didn’t geordie just ask the ship to extrapolate her published materiel and logs to make a personality? Far cry from saying I want a program to have a romantic spark with someone.

It was vaguely implied several times throughout the series that the ship computer, or at least the holodecks, were more alive than anyone knew/acknowledged. Lots of strange stuff happened in there. I always assumed it had something to do with the modifications made by the Binars.
