Today’s game is some more Animal Crossing New Horizons. You know what I’ve come to realize? The switch’s Wi-Fi card? Absolutely horrible. Like. My signal fluctuates from 1 bar to no bars. If I hold it high enough I might get 2 bars. So that’s ruled out multiplayer for the most part because my signal is so bad me and my friend get disconnected after like 2 minutes.
I did something revolutionary today though: I went outside, to my friend’s house, and we played local multiplayer. Experience was far better. We went and looked at his aquarium together.
I have to say, having to actually hang out with a friend. I see why this really took off during Covid. It felt like actually hanging out in a museum with my friend, and with the photo mode it kind of feels like I’m making memories.
I also bought a wet suit and went swimming. It’s a cool concept. I like it. Honestly I like the ocean in general. You know what I don’t like? This damn net. I know there’s technical constraints but damn do I want to just swim onward forever.
I also got Sherb. He’s nice. I want to pet him. He was reading a picture book like all day. No shame to him but I don’t think he can read. Which honestly raises some concerns about the infrastructure on my island. I think I need to establish educational facilities so people can learn to read and stuff. Poor Sherb shouldn’t be limited to picture books.
Finally I unlocked Harv’s island. I wasn’t sure what this is but I wasn’t expecting a photo studio. I took a picture and left (I didn’t want to be rude and just fuck off without taking a single photo). I didn’t have time though so I went home.
That was kind of all I did though. After discovering the multiplayer it’s felt like a lot opened up to me, and getting to finally swim was a nice step too. I think my next step will be to earn money to finish the local bridge I’m building since we don’t seem to have taxes. I’m just not sure how to do that really as I only have 30,000 Bells in the bank.

The switch supports usb ethernet adapters. Look up the supported list. They plug into usb ports on the dock.
It’s pretty much mandatory for any online gaming on it.

Unfortunately Ethernet isn’t really an option for me in my current home situation. Which sucks, I’d love to get some stuff setup with Ethernet, especially my Gaming Desktop
