I just received sunchokes in the mail. Can sunchokes be split up into smaller pieces before planting? Or is it better to plant them whole?

  oh yeah, you can definitely cut them into pieces before planting. I started with ONE, cut into pieced, and now I have a whole little thicket of them. I’m not sure what the theoretical limit on that is though, like how small of a piece will grow

      Just a couple years, and that’s with regular harvesting!
