isnt crypto banned in China, why do they care if it gets hacked.

Crypto is banned in most of China, but it isn’t banned in Hong Kong, and based on my very brief search is seems that LuBian (the miners that were stolen from) stopped mining in 2021 when the general Chinese ban came down, but this hack occurred in 2020 when they were still active. So in terms of crypto theft this is ancient news either way.
