  I didn’t like that Luffy went through that training arc to learn a new way to use the color of arms only to cop-out with gear 5 and go all loony tunes like that

    I love the loony toons personally. It fits the slapdash nature of the show. The color of arms felt like “I’m a serious thing that you should take serious” except that one piece is too ludicrous to be serious. Even when it’s serious it’s so bombastic as to be unbelievable, so fuck it.

    “I’m a god damn cartoon” as luffys actually power is just a love letter to the whole theme of a ridiculous show.
