    One of my favorite stories.

Back in the day, one of the most popular television comics used the name “Sid Cesar.”

One day, some of his writing staff had the idea to go to the library and research ancient Roman comedy. Turns out the old romans laughed at characters like the horny, henpecked husband: the angry wife; the clueless young man; the macho bully; the doddering old fool; the silly young girl; the sneaky businessman, and the schemer who isn’t quite as smart as he thinks he is.

They stole some old plays and wrote a Broadway musical.
