Do Lemmy users benefit from alt text in posts that contain photos?

I am asking because it seems pointless from my side to take more time to make my posts more accessible, if no one actually use it/ read it.

So, does it benefit you or anyone you know on Lemmy?

Lemmy is not a closed space. Posts published on Lemmy can be accessed throughout the Fediverse. This gives every post on Lemmy a much greater reach than expected.
There are a large number of people in the rest of the Fediverse who rely on image descriptions. So yes, it's worth it.

    Of course, I personally benefit from this. But even more so do those who are dependent on it due to restrictions.
