Relatively recently someone requested that the network page automatically showed the new post after posting, without needing to reload. This was implemented by @raroun . It was implemented in a way where the page was reloaded and the page scrolled to the top.

There was some pushback to this latter part, because some users did not want to lose scroll position as a result, so the scroll to top was removed, which effectively means the post isn't seen after posting. Instead a "Go to post" button was added, which scrolls to the top.

I'm wondering if we could slightly adjust that, so the page automatically scrolls to the top if one is at or very near the top - otherwise the "Go to post" button is shown.

Thoughts?
