Today’s game is Oblivion remastered. I went ahead and cleared any excess saves i wasn’t using and have started overwriting saves instead of making new ones in an attempt to mitigate the crashes. It seems to have helped, but i can’t say for sure. I went ahead and did some more of the Mages Guild questline and got accepted. Bruma was the very last one i did.

I have to say i feel like these quests range from mundane household chore to playing cop for the Mages Guild. The Bruma one had me go locate a missing person, which turned out to be some guys just pranking the Guild Master.

One of the guys looks kind of like an uncle i had to the point the resemblance is kind of uncanny. I think it’s the Mustache and the Hair. From what i understand he dies at the end of the Mage’s guild questline though which kind of sucks.

There was another quest where i had to recover a tome for either this lady or the mages guild. I chose the mages guild because i trust them over this random lady to handle a magic spell book. On my way back she was chilling in front of the mages guild waiting for me. I snuck around from the back but there was an awkward few seconds were we made eye contact while i was entering the Mage’s guild. I went up and talked to her after and she got a little offended when i told her i won’t steal the book back for her.

The Mage’s guild quest has you also steal back a staff stolen from another mage by this guy who likes her. Not to White Knight for this random Oblivion NPC but damn did this guy get on my nerves. Not in a “i’m now in a bad mood” way, but in a “I don’t think i like this guy” way. Badgers this person that doesn’t like him, Steals her stuff, then when he feels bad about it, instead of saying sorry and giving it back, he just sells it. It’s the kind of thing you’d expect a middle schooler to pull, not a grown man.

Another thing, The mages guild that this quest takes place is so weirdly designed. it’s the Bravil mage’s guild and it’s built like 4 stories tall and looks like it could fall over. I actually really like how weirdly vertical it is, but it is funny how unsafe it looks (at least to me). I once watched a video of a guy going through a Counter Strike Map and comparing it to the OSHA handbook, would love to see something similar for this game now that i think about it, probably would take forever though.

The last thing i did was stop by the Arcane University and construct my staff. I did a staff of Speechcraft because i am in no way a magic build and it was really the only one i could see myself benefiting from. It is really cool that they let you build your own staff though, even if it’s limited. I do wish it was as indepth as the spell crafting though. Would be sick to be able to make a staff with that much freedom.
